Buzz Dub (Test Mix) (Reggae)

Artist Comments
Making Dub by making a reggae track and then dubbing it. It is also a full sketch from Cheech n Chongs up In Smoke film. This is not finished and needs a lot of pollishing plus some effects n ting to complete it. All the instruments were played by me before being dubbed; bass guitar, DX7 piano, Linn Drum samples etc. Let me know if you have any comments :) (You would think they wud have Dub in the genre list??!)

Atem

29 yr old me makes music in my home studio which has been gathering mass since I was very young. Influenced by everything good, inspired by nature in all its forms. Sound sources range from analog synths to feild recordings and found sounds. I'll use anything as long as it is mine, either I created it, or I took an existing sound and made it mine. Hates toy sample libraries, plastic dance music, and off course the commercial pop industry.

I thought I'd stick a couple of test mixes on here and see if anyone has any comments about what I'm working on :) My method of making music is a bit vague as I was still using Cubase v3 on the Atari about 18 months ago. I've now moved to Cubase SX on the PC and everything seams to be going ok, maybe a little slowly. One of my passions in life is analogue synthesis, tho I dont have any large modulars yet (!) I do have a selection of synths including a Jupiter 6, Juno-106, MC-202, SCI Sixtrak, DX7, Waldorf Pulse, and just bought an Oberheim Matrix 1000 :)

Influencing styles include old skool rave, dub, jazz, metal, electronic blipy clicky stuff, whatever ... that doesnt mean I make those styles; more that I feed on the elements in a style that attracted me. I'm trying very hard to be myself and not sound like the artists I aspire to. Basically I like stuff that is well made and also pioneering in some way, has something new to offer, is heart felt and writen from the soul, is musically or rhythmically clever in its choice of sound sources or notation/arrangment etc, real music, if u get me ... :)
