Hi I'm from Hamilton, New Zealand and I am a singer/songwriter/guitarist. Over the years I've been in different bands and played various solo acoustic gigs. I have recorded a 4 song EP which is entitled "Andy Hallberg - Lamentations" and at the time 2001 - 2002 a single "Darkened Room" was played on the Rock93FM "Axeattack" show. Here is a copy of my album review by "The Axeattack" DJ Paul Martin: Hey Andy Sorry for the delay. Congts on your album. Fine work! You've stamped your own style vocally and as a songwriter on this collection of sincere tracks. Nice playing and well arranged. Mood and tone-wise it reminded me in places of Zakk Wylde. While one piece of guitar on the album reminded me of the Allman Brothers. Very cool. I'll play Darkened Room on Tues 29th May on the Axe Attack and use the cd from time to time on regular playlist. One comment, purely from a radio programmers perspective is the length of the songs. Its very rare that songs over 5 minutes get much airplay these days, although as a songwriter I know that sometimes a certain mood and delivery requires a certain amount of space and time and I applaud you for producing an album songs first (as it should be!). Cheers and keep in touch. Paul. Recently 2001-2003 I put a band together called "Incedo" which was musically in a metal direction and consisted of myself on vocals and guitar, Jaysen Bridge on guitar and Glyn Johnson on drums. Later becoming a two-piece with myself and Glyn. This music is for myself and for you, enjoy friend. Lastly I guess the main thing musically speaking is that singing these songs is a connection with others that truly moves me....hmmm hard to explain :) but I know we are spirit-beings and our Creator speaks....to the heart.
