Formed in October 2001, UNIT 53 is a quadrupilation of many influences of metal styles that are strongly european flavored. The four member unit uses each individual experience and talent to create a nuclear fusion of hard hitting melodic and bone crunching power metal. The dynamite drums and hydrolic bass playing intertwined with symphonic guitars and high, soaring operatic vocals make UNIT 53 the thunder and lightning of the Richmond, Virginia music scene. Current Members of UNIT 53 Steve Lewis: Lead and rhythm guitars Rodney “Choade” Pitts: Bass Guitars & Keyboards Rob Stephenson: Drums & Percussion Carlton Kelly: Lead Vocals
