Acesistalene, a less than unsuccessful 6 piece metal band formed in 2002 by Baz Cooke and Chris Harden, was the foundations of what was to come….
With unreliable drummers, and a completely un-rhythmical guitarist, what would hopefully be a dream, fell to ashes. It was then after summer 2003, that this nightmare would end, Acesistalene would fall into the dark side, the birth of the early Nocturnal Desire.
It all began as a requirement for an A-level course that Baz, Chris and Paul Lenahan, were taking. It was then that the band restarted and being friends for several years it was only natural for them to team up.
A death metal band with 1 guitar, a bass, and an inexperienced drummer wasn’t going to be easy, so recruitment began.
Also on the same course was guitarist/song writer extraordinaire, Lee Anwyll, a fan of black and death metal. With haste he was asked to join the band, and was glad to help out.
Missing being the vocalist, Baz packed in playing drums and demanded we scour the area for a half-decent one. One Friday night, it happened, the insanely technical Andy Cunliffe was found, it was this night the band would be completed.
The next major event in the band’s history happened during May 2004, when Paul appeared to loose interest in the band, and start making up excuses for not coming to practices and gigs. It was this that made us decide that after all our hard work, this attitude was no longer welcome, and there was no problems finding his replacement, an incredibly more talented bassist, Graeme Brown.

Many months and practices later during October 2004, Nocturnal Desire surfaced from the shadows to annihilate the line-up and crowd at a local gig. Faced with an arrogant kiddie ‘let’s make a band’ punk group, who insisted they were better and should headline, where left to follow us with a smoking drum kit and a noisy crowd.
The local fan base had finally been achieved and the gig was recorded and provided the band with a long awaited demo……..
