NASSAU CHAINSAW. Razor Tongue: Born in Brooklyn and raised in Long Island. Originally the drummer of the acclaimed hardcore metal band “Neck”, Razor now steps up from the back of the stage to the front of the microphone’s diaphragm with full intensity and purpose. Dan Optimo: Born and raised on the lower east side of Manhattan. He had music makers all around him. His brother being hip hop producer Dub-L. All production is handled by the infamous Dub-L, best known for his work with The Controls, MF DOOM, Masta Ace, Common, Aesop Rock, C-Rayz Walz, DJ JS-1 and many others. This man lays it down for the boys to rock to. You can also catch Razor Tongue and Dan Optimo featured on Dub-L’s 2004 release “Day Of The MEGA BEAST” on Daybydayent with their song “Savagery Weapons”. The teenage years for the duo became ugly when they found themselfs trapped in a lifestyle of drugs, sex, and crime. But they never lost their love for music. During a chance encounter while upstate in a rehabilitation facility, the two decided to combine their talents and create a raw new sound that assaults the senses as well as insult, mock, and exaggerate the life, society and the world around them. Stemming from the hypocrisy of organized religion to the classic track about a fifty car pileup to your mother, they never cease to run out of touchy subjects to talk about. In their words you can here the pain, heartache, anger, distrust and passion that Razor Tongue and Dan Optimo have had bottled up for years due to lives of struggling from having to grow up fast, too young. From eating out of garbage cans to sleeping in the gutter, from loving life to hating life, they never once letting the beat that pulsated through their veins skip for one second. Now with the past behind them, the full length debut “Raised By Wolves” is nearly completed. Dub-L provides the beats and production, Razor Tongue and Dan Optimo provide the emotion and Nassau Chainsaw is becoming an entity in the underground hip hop/ hardcore world. Both MC’s work full time jobs and spend all their free time writing, recording, and promoting. Hundreds of e-mails are sent out everyday to hip hop fans all over the world with links to Nassau Chainsaw’s website where they can download songs and check out upcoming events, news and leave feedback. Hundreds of promo cd’s are burned, labeled and handed out at hip hop and hardcore shows on a weekly bases and thousands of flyers are printed out from their basement apartment.
