Phillip Hardy has experienced the Los Angeles music scene working the best showcase clubs, including the Whiskey, Roxy, Troubadour, Starwood and Madame Wongs, leading his own band and playing with several others. Phil has recorded tracks with Walter Egan of “Magnet and Steel” fame. He also recorded a demo with Marvin Etzioni, founding member of Lone Justice. Though a Chrysalis records executive hated his early demo, he liked his drumming and invited him to audition for Billy Idol. He also auditioned for Eddie Money, upon invitation from bassist Ralph Carter, who overheard Phillip recording a drum track at a LA studio. Phillip played live and recorded with Dino Archon and Robbie Robb, former members of the popular South African band the Asylum Kids. He also worked with songwriter Chris Fradkin, who co-wrote “A Million Miles Away” for the Plimsouls. Their band opened for LA favorites like the Motels, Rank and File and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. His demo tapes were aired on both KLOS Local Licks and Best of Local Licks. In a club review of Bill Grisolia and the Attachments, Music Connection Magazine said, "Phil Hardy's timing is as precise as the tick tock of Big Ben and rocks like a runaway renegade."

In January of 2004, Phillip put out his new CD, “Old Dog, New Tricks”. Within a few days of his first press release, he received several requests from radio stations and music journalists. His song, “She’s the One”, has just entered the New Artist Radio top forty after only 2 weeks and the host, TMC called his singing “phenomenal”. On February, 15, Phillip was asked to play drums for journeyman blues man Guitar Shorty and the Andy T Band at a benefit concert for an LA blues DJ. Additionally, he recently played two gigs for blues honk sax player Joe Houston and Albert King guitar disciple LA Jones. Gary “Wagman” Wagner (Former host of “Nothing but the Blues” on KJAZZ radio) has invited Phillip to play with his all star blues band in February of 2003; and in July at his request, he backed up Melvin Eddy, Johnny Tucker, Jill Sharpe and Andy T and the following week appeared with Jill in the upcoming indie film, “Invasion of the Freedom Snatchers”. In addition to his musical background, Phillip holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from University of Phoenix and a Master of Management Degree from University of Redlands. |
