Arrogant – “The Chi-Town Prince” Chi-Town is known for many talented artist, past and present that have put Chicago on the map as an entertainment capitol. Well, not to let that tradition fade, George Gilbert aka Arrogant is about to take center stage with his contribution to the rap game. Hailing from the south side of Chicago, Arrogant has provided his skills and creativity on several tracks from DJ-I.C. Dre’s (former DJ & Producer for Chi-Town’s own TWISTA) “Business Before Pleasure” album, and his highly anticipated album, “The Misconception,” Arrogant lets us hear what he does best when he’s on the mic; and he knows that flow and concept counts if you want to be heard on a constant level in the rap business. With his heavily radio rotated, and BET video single “Swing On His A**” (WGCI, Power 92, B96, Sirius Satellite, and many overseas markets) produced by Matthew “Vudu” McAllister (Ludacris – “Large Amounts” and “Georgia”) and with help from the production team at TableFunkMuzik, and management team Marlowe Whitlow and Marcus Strother, Arrogant is quickly being recognized as one of the best new artist coming out of the Chicago area. When you come out to the public, the best way is to come out swinging and this single does just that. “Swing On His A**” offers the elements of a true hit; banging beat, clear and concise lyrics, and dash of street that true rap fans love. Teaming up with DJ-I.C. Dre, while on tour in March of 2001, in New York City, was the beginning of a winning team. This DJ was feeling the creativity of this unique rapper and asked him to bring his magic to the music table. The tracks from “The Misconception” album also includes “Bring it Back” and the new street anthem “Take it Outside”. “Pimpin”, which has appeared on several records charts and DJ pools throughout the nation. “I Ride”, “Take Advantage” and “You’re the One” all show the versatility of this young man’s rapping skills. The creativity blended with dope lyrics and some soulful R&B; sounds makes these tracks good potentials for something big; and have set the pace for Arrogant’s first single. This rapper says that he wants his listeners to get a good feeling when listening to his music. He describes his work as party/ real rap, with a dash of street. Arrogant, whose name comes from his peers on the street, says that even though this project has taken some time; he has waited patiently and is now ready to deliver his message. So keep your ears to the radio for this newcomer is coming out strong; as well as; coming out swinging. For more information contact: MARCUS L.STROTHER @ 815-793-5537 OR MARLOWE D. George Gilbert was born August 28, 1981 and raised on Chicago's south side. Those of you familiar with this area know that survival sometimes means gang affiliation, drug dealing, drug addiction or a life of petty crime. Notice I said sometimes, not always. George is a young man who decided early that he could create his own environment instead of allowing his environment to create him. At a young age George engulfed himself in the fascinating world of Hip-Hop. “I saw entertainment and Hip-Hop as a positive way to stay out of trouble. Gangs and drugs have never been my forte,’” says the young rapper now known as Arrogant. Arrogant has competed against some of Chicago's Top talent in Rap battles throughout the city. He soon earned respect as one of the best this city has to offer. He carried himself in a way that loudly proclaimed “I can’t be beaten,” that attitude added to his personality just the right touch of arrogance forcing his competitors to work hard and audiences to go wild with excitement and pleasure. It also led to the name Arrogant. Arrogant has grown over the years both as an artist and as an individual. His maturity, commitment to his music and versatility in style will give him an edge in the entertainment arena. Watch out ladies, this multitalented rapper, writer, and producer generates an intoxicating volatile, explosive, live performance that will not only steal your attention but your heart as well.
