Reclusum is four guys with a strong passion for the art of music. Forming in August 2002, the band has grown, changed, and finally manifested into its current form with Sam Elkington (bass) Tim Bjornstad (vocals/guitar) Amblin (guitar) and Bondy Black (drums). Reclusum is a completely independent musical project working with Tim's father's label AudioPlex Records. Both projects aim to spread their music as far as the music will be welcomed. We are currently working in the studio on our debut album "The Unclosing" which will be finished by June, 2004. The album was originally scheduled for completion in February of this year, but due the singer becoming quite ill and many other factors, the recording schedule was moved to April and May of the same year and the demo tracks/singles for the album will be available towards the end of May. We want to thank everyone who has been keeping a tabs on us in the past months. We are very proud of our music and cannot wait to share it with those of you who choose to listen to what we have to express. Peace.

With a natural ability and talent for writing, Sam and Tim joined forces in 2002 and started writing material, most of which was improv. In October of 2002, Sam introduced drummer Joel JoekKoek for a jam session and the band moved from an acoustic duo to a three-piece rock band. Still, something was missing until Sam introduced a man that he met named Amblin. A brilliant guitarist, Amblin finished the formation of the band with his arrival in March of 2003, adding a wonderful flavor to the music. 2003 proved to be a very inspirational and difficult year for the band, for the music that was born of this quartet was forged out of much pain. With many deaths surrounding the band members, the music was born out of pain and a longing to understand the ways of life, which of course will never be understood. In October 2003, Joel announced his dream to join the United States Army in hopes of becoming an Army Ranger, which forced us to search for a new drummer. Luckily, Bondy Black was right around the corner. An excellent drummer, Bondy added closure to the unsteady structure of the band and though losing Joel set us back in terms of recording, Bondy forced us ahead into a new era for the band and the music grew greatly. |
