************************* Who is Shemida J. ************************* Shemida Sophia Joseph was born on December 14, 1985 into a very sheltered family where Christianity played a big role in life. Though she loved her parents and everything they were teaching her, Shemida always knew that there had to be more than just living life to the norm. At the tender age of ten she found an outlet in writing and discovered poetry. She continued to write and build up her skills with no purpose, just for the love of writing. She often created little riddles and musical skits to perform at church. Although she had been singing in the church since age six, Shemida did not find her love for music until the sixth grade. She was singing while walking around the track during her P.E. period when she first caught the attention of her peers who were amazed by her natural vocal talent. The news then quickly spread to all her classmates which soon after led her to performing for her classes during free time. This also led her to her first performance out of church, which was to sing the Negro National Anthem "Lift Every Voice and Sing" in front of the entire school during a black history assembly. From then on music became her life. She then started mixing her talents. Shemida stayed busy with writing songs and participating in several different talent shows. At the current age of nineteen Shemida, now known as Shemida J, is striving to reach her peak in the unsigned hype world of the hip-hop music industry. Shemida J is working with several different local producers to create her perfect demo that will portray her diversity in music along with her unique style. There are several goals that she is working towards, but her main goal right now is to be heard by as many as possible and land a deal with a major record label. --------------------------------------"As long as you are breathing you got to keep striving" Shemida J
