The Sedatives are a sleepy Anglo-Norwegian duo, based in Trondheim and Chesterfield, respectively. Their idea of a good time is to load their acoustic bass and guitar onto a train, and subject the inhabitants of hitherto innocent parts of the globe to their own brand of shock-folk. Having attended impromptu "Sedatives" happenings, mere teenagers of 19 have been known to exhibit the first stirrings of mid-life crisis. The Sedatives also compose their own melodies and are renowned for their particularly sensitive and tender lyrics dealing with such awkward subjects as lonely death, impossible love, millennial disillusionment, Sunday morning fry-ups, Number 20 buses and assorted green vegetables.
