Very cool imagination on the creation of the piece. The vocals are dreamy ..and the dark tones are a great combo.Michelle has a wonderful vibe and the production on the vocal is a delight to hear.
Yes, I agree with all the other comments. an unusual and interesting treat for the senses. Love the sudden changes in direction. Rated!
I started to listen to this on my speakers and within a few seconds went to the earphones so I could make sure I heard everything. Very very cool track. This is one of those I wish I coulda downloaded cause it's one I'd listen to just to take me away to somewhere different...
Very creative music that soothes as well excites the senses. Nice production values throughout. Thoughtful and provoking such.
Very different approach...with some nice touches.. very haunting vocals from Michelle. Sounds like somethings on fire at the beginning..I like the way it smooths out at 1.40.. Nice work. k
Scenery is a group of four musicians from Phoenix, Arizona formed in 2009. The band gained recognition on their third album, “Everything Orbits Something” released in 2011. Yab Yum Music said, “Everything Orbits Something is the perfect soundtrack to a quiet melancholy day” and Ear of Change said, “…this release is the type of album that we strive to hear - uncompromising, unexpected, and uneasy at all the right times.” Scenery released their fourth album, Humdrum, on February 19th, 2013.

“We tried to get away from our laptops for a bit and focus on playing physical instruments,” Scenery member Troy Harris said. “We are always striving to make electronic music sound more human and I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished here.”
Scenery specializes in eclectic songs and Humdrum is no exception. Lead single, “Crashing Down” features crackling percussion mimicking a world falling apart while “Kinderen” is built upon fragile acoustic guitar fragments and the angelic backing vocals of popular Phoenix musician, Michelle Blades. Blades also appears on “My Grimey Dreams” which recalls the frantic panic of a fever dream through distorted bass and otherworldly sounds. “Godish” is a spoken word tale told over droning shoegaze guitar.
The lyrics focus on memories of the past, forgotten ambitions and time wasted. “My dreams sadly, just ain’t what they used to be,” Blades sings on “My Grimey Dreams”. “I have left all the tall tales / Start to think this is all for real,” Harris sings on Left All. Dreams and the imperfection of our memories play a key role in the music. The instrumental song, “Mirage” echoes barely remembered vocal fragments and repeating melodies over distant sounding percussion.
Most of the songs on Humdrum were recorded for RPM Challenge 2012 where the goal is to record an entire album in one month.
