a download counter?

I've decided to give our first album, 'La Noche de San Jaun', away as a free download from our site, but I would like a facility, where 'the punter' has to enter their email address, then they receive an  email with the link to the free download.

But I really have no idea, how to do it!!

Can anyone help?

Cheers

You could set up an auto-responder on a specific email address....so when they send their details to the email address you specify, it automatically sends them the mp3(s).

Alternatively you should take a look at

http://php.resourceindex.com/

and

http://cgi.resourceindex.com

and

http://www.hotscripts.com

Try looking at the password protection scripts - you'll probably find what you want there.

I have found numerous scripts for doing all sorts of things at these sites - some great - some sh*t.  Takes a bit of time to try them out but when you find the right one its well worth it....especially if its free as well :o)

Many of the scripts available through those sites are either free or quite cheap.

For reference (but not to do with downloads) some of the best free scripts I've found include:

Moodle
Magic Newslite
Help Centre Live

I use all three of these scripts on my site www.recurl.net

 Hope it helps.

Here's a great idea m8.

Firstly, you will need to purchase a SCO-UNIX Terminal Emulation package, and the Vi Editor.

I'll wait, whilst you order and install it........

...ok...done that?

Right-O....your first job is to create a dynamic link library that seeks for connect instances between your home PC and the Los Guys website, once you've done that (using basic UNIX shell script language), a secondary script is required which effectively employs a 32 bit polynumual search algorythm to monitor up and downstream traffic from the site to other remote computers that access it via the same protocol...and then report back to your home PC.

The data will be represented as a series of Pleisiosynchronous Digital Hierarchy event-markers, each fluctuation beyond the point of around 0.862 (n)KJpS represents an upstream ping event, whereas everything above this value, marked as a partial or transitory dependancy (represented by a factor of 30+/-10, but not in excess of n by more than one quarter of it's base value within a standard encapsulation factor (k)) signifies a downstream event, in tandem with, and in relation to the relative upstream value within the given state of numerical flux (n=k +/-10 // error ratio apparent from transitory value [t]).

Using this basic formula, all you have to do is monitor all traffic to and from the Los Guys website, keeping a constant eye on the variables expressed above (or employ a young boy on a YOP scheme to do the above if you don't have sufficient time) and then concatinate the collected data within a standard Modulo2 divisible 4d grid framework; and obviously, use the values expressed within the lower quartile as your basis for the overall value total.

Presto! There are your downloads, in a handy, graphical form.

Hope this helps m8.

YOP scheme?  NOW you're showing your age LOL!!!

Anyway you missed something crucial to the formula.....

Anyone knows that the condicial flabitibdol needs to be set at 3.213 (n)-10 to converge correctly with the twabobble flumental rate.

GOD - don't you know anything!

I'd already covered that...obviously.

"a series of Pleisiosynchronous Digital Hierarchy event-markers"

Surely you realise that this system incorporates an Ammaphore as it's core running process?

Come now...this is basic stuff.....it's not like we're discussing anything overly technical here!

...BTW, I learned everything I know on a YOP scheme. It made me the mad I am today.

aaahhh - you can tell a persons age by their YOP!

I was a yts......later version........superior obviously.......

............that's how I know you're wrong about the physiothethial probamberally fazzil rate!.........which is quite different to the twabobble flumental rate.
