Can anyone help??? does any one have any .wav samples of the BOSS DR110 drum machine sounds?

Was there an early preset drum machine called a MINI-POPS? I sort of remember it but can't find one on the net.

Also looking for a comprehensive library of EDP WASP synthesiser samples. Any pointers or free gifts welcomed with open arms/legs.

Ooooh I love you all.

Ahh I love retro synths so this is also of interest to me.

..let me check, I distinctly recall having a few DR110 one shots lying around somewhere. In the meantime Fruity's 'Drum Synth Live' plug-in will do a 'reasonable' (i.e not perfect, but passable to the uncritical ear) simulation if you tweak it about a bit.

MINI-POPS is not known to me. My first drum machine was called the 'Movement'...not sure if any numbers  followed the title, but it was really, really basic, and came equipped with one naff, tinny snare, one, crap kick drum, one hissy open hat, and one tinny closed hat. I used to love that old box, for all it's quirks, but it was stolen one day, and never replaced.

As for the WASP synth. I know of it, but have no experience with using it, so I'm not really sure what it sounds like. I used to think that the 'Wasp' plug-in (Fruity Loops once again) was an emulation...but 'parrently this is not so.

OK enough waffle, I'll get searching.....

<>bingo!

Above is a link to 'Da Hornet' a VST EDP WASP emulator, and it's free!

I've no idea how good it is, but I'll try it out when I get home from work. Not managed to find any actual samples of the Wasp...but I personally find virtual instruments much more flexible than pure samples. I'll keep looking if it's only samples you are after.

Download DaHornet here

Edit. Just downloaded the synth, it prompts for a serial number, despite claims that it was free!

Some investigation on my part revealed that the serial number has been included on the link.

Scroll down to the section that contains DaHornet, and look below the download link. The serial is included below.

BOSS DR110 KIT

Tee hee.

Now get yourself to the link above and get the drum kits. There's a DR110 kit on there, plus a lot of other stuff, which should keep you busy

Now HERE is a page with some info about the Wasp, including a few downloadable samples.

The site offers a complete CD for sale, which is filled with a complete Wasp sample library...exactly what you are looking for in other words, but obviously you would have to pay.

I've had a good play with the virtual version, and it's a blast. The presets are nice on their own, even without me having to tweak them. This is definitely going to feature in my next track.

And finally - just to completely finish off all the tasks that you have set..

Korg Mini Pops

...But beyond that, here is a batch downloadable user banks for the Hammerhead drum machine, which includes a Mini Pops emulation kit.

Drum banks

Hammerhead is freeware, highly recommended, and can be downloaded from the same web page.

Now did I miss anything??

I did have a WASP once which I greatly miss. It managed to show me up on stage several times due to playing itself most of the time (dropped beer on it once - it never smiled again). It was bad enough that we were trying to be a political anarchic synthesiser band like a grumpy know-all Depeche Mode playing to loads of spikey haired punks and glue sniffers. Oh I was so young and pretty then, so full of wonderful ideas and I had some great trousers.

They really didnt like us. Which was quite funny. We got so far as sitting in the bedroom of Steve Niave, the CRASS front man in their squat in essex, as he listened to our demo. He didnt like it! So here I am, still unsigned... sigh.

Lol, I have their complete works more or less. I used to send endless correspondance back and forth.

One of the songs from my old band was supposed to have been featured on the last Bullsh*t Detector album...but the project was shelved before that could happen. I got a really apologetic letter from Joy De Vivre which I still have somewhere. It remains the nearest I have ever got to actually appearing on vinyl.
