It's time for me to say goodbye to all of my friends at MP3U.

A few things are going on in my life at the moment, none of which I will discuss here, but I'm sure that these things affect all of us at some time or another.

I have been a member of MP3U for about a year (coming upto a year) and I have resided to the fact that I am never going to make it as an artist in the unsigned artist world let alone the signed artist world.

Although music is in my blood and is the only thing that I really enjoy doing, I feel that I have been spending far to much of what little spare time I have "playing" with musical ideas, and neglecting to some extent other responsibilities.

Therefore I have decide to hang up my musical gloves and take an early retirement from the music scene.

I would just like to take this opportunity to thank Stew and the management team from providing and running such an excellent site, It's always the first site I check out everytime I log onto the internet, and I would like to thank the friends that I have made on this site for thier support.

I would also like to specifically thank the following people:

Paradise Decay - Hope you get that software deal, you deserve it

D'sential - Good luck with your promotion company, I'm sure it will do well

Jakt - You know what I think of your tracks mate, how you are not signed I will never know - Chat with you on MSN soon

I will be keeping my tracks up for a little longer, and I will be popping in now and again to see how everyone is getting on, and to listen to new tracks.

Maybe when I get myself all sorted out I may well start writing again.

But until then, I wish you all a merry Christmas and hope that you all are fortunate in the new year.

Best Wishes

Steve.

Steve m8
Take the Xmas period to think and be away from things...don't be too fast to leave. You are much more valued than you might think and I'm sure you can manage a schedule that balances your love of music with you various duties...God knows sometimes I just want to give up and go away as a result of things going on and having too much to do that I ignore...I usually find a bit of quality time to myself helps...I hope that you will find the same and that 2005 will mean you are still here ;o)

Take care m8

I think I know how you're feeling, I was posting a similar message on another site a few months ago, and just left this site without saying anything at all.

Youth's right though, sometimes a break away from things can do the world of good.  I know how making music can turn into a bit of an obsession and cold turkey seems the only way to go, but when music's in your blood and it's your main love in life that's the way it is.

You can find balance between doing what you love and the rest of your life.  Sometimes a breather is all it takes

At times, I have thought about giving up the production side of things, i would recommend, just leaving your music online and see what happens. I will plug you as much as I can. You are one of the quality artists I have had the pleasure of knowing, your talent is far too big to dismiss. Have a think mate. Don't go Steve.  Don't feel pressured to write new tunes because people expect it of you, you've got an enough material for an album, concentrate on plugging that.

Its a shame to hear that.  I just checked out your tune 'Thats not True' and dude, you've already 'made it' in the unsigned world.  No need to hang up you gloves.  Just put them to one side for a while.

Whatever you do, please leave you tunes up here to make even more people happy.

All the best, Virus

I understand that Other Elements of Life can sometimes catch up with you (not just you anyone) and create a whole load of pressure and stress. But remember music is a creative outlet and helps to de-stress. Without the creative outlet be very careful of your health, stress IS a killer.

I have recently started playing guitar again recently after a gap of very many years and the pursuit of other things in life and love. Well when the love left me, I found my music and the neglected creativity in me was my saviour. I have vowed to myself never to leave music to one side again. I dont need to "make it" I just want to be able to pick up my guitar and express myself my feelings or what ever mood i happen to be in.

I have 2 beautiful children and they will always be my first love, but i will never leave music go again. I honestly think that the best music comes from the unsigned artists all over the world. Look at any bands 1st album or the old Blues players playing out on the Porch in some southern state. Most of these people write songs not to some Record companies instruction but stuff that comes from the Heart. Ahhh I'm babbling.

Please don't give up you dont have to make it to make it!!!

Steve listen to the folks buddy - I regularly feel like giving it all up, so do many others I've come into contact with over the past 3 years.

All of us have periods of self doubt, despondancy, lack of confidence & low esteem at times and it's through rethinking musical styles, or simply leaving it all be for a while & recharging the creative batteries that has helped me come back stronger each time I 'disappear'.

The surge of creativity will come upon you when you least expect it & you will probably amaze yourself with what you are suddenly producing, ok it may not last, but it will lift your spirits again & boost your confidence as an artist.

Grab a listen to just one of my tracks by clicking on the link below & if you work out who I am then you will see what I mean M8 - honestly
