Oh my, where to start on offering a few words on this most recent contemporary acoustic piece from  ‘The Foreboding’

I know what - read the text below taken from the artists biog section then click HERE & let your heart supply him the answer!

[Quote]

“I rescued my dusty old guitar from the back of the cupboard last Summer, and before I knew quite what I was doing I was trying to write songs...Then learning to record...

Much of the time I feel like just giving it all up...”

[End Quote]

I’ve downloaded each & every track (6 to date) uploaded to MP3Unsigned by Jon aka ‘The Foreboding’ & I personally feel that if he were to hang his, what I believe must now be a very polished & shiny guitar, back up in that cupboard & “give it all up” it would be an enormous loss to the music world !

There’s some very talented artists on MP3Unsigned whose vocal delivery is totally amazing & truly awsome to hear, Jon is, IMO, one of those very talented artists.

His laid back, moody & extremely melancholy style of singing oozes out from him like warm syrup trickling off a silver spoon, gently twisting it’s way onto warm fluffy buttermilk pancakes.  As you slowly saver the first tasty mouthful, enjoying the delightful sweetness you begin to greedily despair at the prospect that they’ll soon be gone from your plate, however you can relax & smile knowing you’ll remember that wonderful taste until the next time.  (Unless of course you don't like sweet things & if that's the case then think savoury & enjoy the sensation anyways).

I know it may seem a strange comparison, but that’s exactly how I feel when I listen to the music of ‘The Foreboding’ .

‘Clumsy Metaphors’ is one of those songs that I’ve been greedily enjoying over & over again over the past few days whilst sat out in the garden, or laid on the couch, lights dimmed & with my head phones on shutting out all other sound, never wanting it to end.

It’s an amazingly beautiful song, lyrically perfect & deeply meaningful.

Delivered with such calmness, I can almost visualise Jon on the verandah of an old wooden house, perhaps somewhere like, Louisiana USA, sat with his guitar in a very large rocking chair smiling at the blue moss hanging from the old oak trees, blowing gently in the breeze, whilst his beloved sleeps peacefully in a big soft feathered bed.

(Gosh my imaginations running wild just recently - I must be needing another vacation lol)

I know I’ve said this before when I’ve described the music of ‘The Foreboding’ but I’ll repeat it again here – listening to each track is like warm ear balm caressing me oh so softly, soothing away the cares of worries of my never ending day - I trust they can do the same for you.

Jon, my friend, don’t ever feel like “giving it all up”!  You have real talent & remarkable song writing ability & you’ll always have at least one fan in the world, even if it is only me M8 lol.

Thanks for taking the time to listen to the song, and write such a long and thoughtful review.

I write these songs and record them, and by the time I'm finished I don't know whether they're any good or not.  It's nice to know then that somebody thinks this one is.

Thanks m8

Jon

and I received my copy of the new Foreboding ep, how can I say this, it's superb.

From the album cover design, through to the end of the last track, it oozes polish, professionalism and quality.

Thanks ever so much Jon!

'(P)olish, professionalism and quality' were three nouns I never though I'd see mentioned in connection with my music.  Weird.

Glad you're enjoying it, and thanks for putting me on to Paint shop pro, without which, as they say, none of this would have been possible.
