Posted here and at Hip Hop In Session:

Sup to my Hip Hop In Session fam and my MP3Unsigned fam.  Got a new track to let yall listen to, but before that, please listen to this Farewell Address.  I know most, if not all, of yall won't really be surprised by this, especially for those on HHIS.  Instead of making a whole post about it, I'll just let this recording from my own voice say it all.  A transcript is available by clicking on the Lyrics button.

FFS man, you're crazy!  So you can't cant produce like a pro yet but you have a delivery when you rap that really is second to none.  There are guys on MTV who cant spit like you.  You don't need the whole package...one bit at a time, or just stick to what you are best at.

I've been doing the music thing since I was 16.  Thats 15 years in July.  I only made my first $$ in May last year, after getting serious and working on it for an average 4 hours a day since the end of 2003.  And it'll probably be a while yet before I've paid for all the equipment I've bought, if at all.  But I really can't stop doing it.  Do it or die trying is my motto.

Well, I wont try to persuade you, you know my views already.

I ain't accomplished much in 10 years either.  I do it not because it makes me money (I got a real job that pays my bills) but because I need to put the music out. I get frustrated listening to bland music, so instead of complaining, I just make some of my own. (Hopefully not as bland.)

You should just stick with it as a hobby if nothing else. Everybody's gotta have a hobby.

Stay blessed,

Atom

we all have our down times V

I was listening to lunatic fluid earlier today, and it was your verse that stood out the most to me.

It's your call, but like a lot of us, you sometimes need to just walk away for a wee while, and take a break, then get your buzz back.

Whatever you do, all the best

Stew

Reality sucks,

You've just been hit with a dose of it.

The reality is, its hard to make it in the music industry. So many people  discover this and give it up.

At the end of the day, its your choice man, but I'll say this. During your declaration you said a couple of time that you have and do love it. So why you giving away something you love? I resigned myself a long time ago to not being signed, it doesn't stop me wanting to be signed and trying. But I do music for me now, You see I do love it, I love it everytime I create something new, its my baby, no one elses. I don't write to be famous, I do it cause if i didn't then a part of me would die,

So if you've made your Choice V, then so be it. But ask youself,

"Do I love it?"

Or is that just bull

Respect to you, and whatever your choice

Steve

Dude, I'm not into hip-hop/rap, but I must say, I enjoyed both versions of Freaky Young Tenders (yeah I know I'm not supposed to really hear that stuff, me being 16 and all ).  It's a catchy song man!  You're part is funny dude and I liked it and that takes a whole lot to be recommended by me, since I can't stand most of hip-hop/rap music(sorry other hip-hop/rap artists, but it's true).

Don't quit dude!  Like what Stew says, we all feel down sometimes!

But if you are gonna do this, make it a hobby.  It's something fun and music is a way to express yourself.  When I feel a certain way, I express it through music.  Don't give up producing forever!!!

mate what the f**k? sinse when has music been about pleasing anybody else, sure its nice to know that a person can enjoy or relate to a track that you have made but at the end of the day they are YOUR tracks. You wrote them because in that moment you wanted to get something out of you; if you close the valve then it can only be bad. For me its a release, even if everyone laughs, even if noone like it- I would do it anyway. Why? because what the hell is the point in drifting through an easy life, if it wasnt hard then it wouldnt be worth it.

Achievements

MP3Unsigned Highlighted Artist of the Day (six times)
MP3Unsigned Featured Artist of the Week (week beginning January 22, 2006)
Nomination for Best Reviewer at MP3Unsigned
Songs on charts that featured V Dogg:
Why You Gotta Hate? (No. 15, week of August 22, 2005)
Lunatic Fluid (No. 1, week of January 16, 2006)

won him second place and a $50 prize. After the talent show, he was very popular in school. His fellow classmates wanted more. That drove him to create more and more hip hop

As V Dogg kept aging, his skills on the mic improved. V Dogg was one of the most sought after names in hip hop. But now, he is nothing but a big joke.

I aint laughin......
