First, I must express how stunned I became when I was unable to place anything less than a 10 in each category of this review! Pulled in from the awkward drumbeat in the beginning all the way to the tripped out inner city rave synths and classic instruments, that carried me throughout the whole track. I really must say this was an enjoyable ride all the way through!
Not just amazing muzical quality but gripping lyrics, and I would like to thank Serge for recognition of such a great accomplishment that many are unappreciative of!! I think Martin Luther King Jr. would've been glad to be a part of such a melodic and tranquil, soul grasping contribution to the great, everlasting art we call muzic!
It's one thing to have a drum beat and a few different synths in the mix that entertain you through a track. But, it's that extra sound effect when the beat changes , or the guitar riff totally out of left Field to grab your attention and not let you go, that really makes a track what it is! To have rhythm shifts and pick-ups and drops all over the place but, to enter and exit them in such a way that the mood bends but doesn't break, is an awesome ability, and I feel Serge is one of the best at employing all of these concepts! I see somewhat of a difference between Dance and House muzic, with House having more of a vintage instrument approach rather than the sequenced digital synth sound... ie.When was the last time you heard a saxophone at a rave or in a deep Dance/Trance track?!! I never have...In my opinion, Serge Blake is the best I've ever heard at bringing all of these into effect with the groove quality of a Dance/Trance track. My hat is of to you Kuzimoto....
