Make a new sound to call your own that stands out from the crowd. I'm more concerned with the "FUTURE"ALL MUSIC IS INFLUENCIAL... dance, hip hop, techno/electronica, alternative, classic rock, oldies, etc... it all holds value regardless of genre.
