Erik Scott Smith (lead vocals, guitars) had persued a solo music career for years until ANOTHER solo artist, Scott Ludwig (bass, vocals), came into the picture. After his departure from Rock N Roll Susan, Scott packed his things to return back to California. He soon met up with Erik again and began tracking new material immediately. The Rumor, named after an episode title of "The Andy Griffith Show," has been working fervently to finish 6 new tracks and begin playing shows. "As a solo artist, we spend so much time coming up with our own ideas. It's been really cool to have several other people contributing to the music - and everyone with the same intentions" says Scott Ludwig. And what are their intentions? "We just want people to take what they can from our songs. I write, and Scott too, a lot about what's going on in my life. Life is a constant inspiration. We tend to focus on introspection a lot - not so much on events themselves, but how they change us" Erik says. The new material by the Rumor might best be called "moving" rock n roll. "We like our sound big, What can I say? The world is a big place, so when you sing about it, it might as well fit."
