Bio THE GRAND TWELVE is a musical and visual journey thru the mind and eyes of Alun-Rhys Lloyd. Unhappy with a world surrounding him, he creates winding and intricate musical melodies fused with modern day protest songs influenced from singer/songwriters such as Bob Dylan and the kinks.Combined with a percussive, almost angry style of punk/hardcore chords and melodies, into folk nspired gentle fingerpicking, Alun-Rhys crafts honesty and emotion into every part of his songwriting, Sometimes delivering a brutal honesty to the listener when least expected. "The Grand Twelve started as far back as i can remember. My earliest songs were filled with as much honesty as i could manage, but being younger i directed those lyrics at what I was going thru personally at the time. A lot has happened in the last 6 years, both personal and in the world around me. I personally see a lot of scared confused people,i mean, im one of them! I left my band MCH2R to follow my heart and write from it at the same time, this also seemed to co-incide with the fact that i lost my job in retail,not that im complaining. When i left work i spent months finding where i was going. I had no idea what i could do that would take away the pain i felt deep inside my heart. I always knew this world was more beautiful than i could imagine, and yet there was something missing. i returned to songwriting in March of 2006, and right now im crafting and sculpting an album that i feel sums up the world and my feelings.
