The Cheaters Club started as a one-man side project in the Fall/Winter of 2002, but as with any infidelity, it grew until there was a whole cast of characters behind it. It consists primarily of the late-night beats and wordplay of Eon Fontes-May paired with Steve Armstrong's additions of guitar, bass, keyboards, and whatever else he feels the need to make noise with. The Cheaters Club focuses mainly on traversing new terrain, both lyrically and musically, as they blend traditional instrumentation with electronic antics, often lining a simple acoustic guitar line with a bed of samples, found-sound beats, and washes of noise. The Cheaters Club has so far released a three-song eponymous single (now out of print), a six song EP entitled "thanks for asking," and most recently the three-song "a week in the life of the cheaters club." Their first full-length, "Tryst," has finally been released and is available at www.cdbaby.com. To get your hands on a free copy of "a week in the life of the cheaters club," send an email to Eon at their listed address. The Cheaters Club hates charging for music. Get in touch.
