Where Is The Love In That Remix by RedDress
@ Forbidden colours, thank you for the feedback here. @ DJFrankieHolme, thank you! this track was remixed by the late 'Angel Reddress' whom I met on this site, cool to hear a great comment on this collaboration:)
Perfect sounds. Great title. Clean production. Very well done!
Dreamy chords, thumping bassline, catchy melodies and some sweet vocals. Easilly rated.
Hi Sonya LOOOONG time no hear, just saw your post and reminded me you had been kind enough to drop a line on my solo page. This is still a thumping good track, hope all is well in you world... this MADEGO thing is Deon and Deggsy btw. Any more tunes on the way??
Hi Sonya - thought i would check out another of your tracks - with vocals this time - track has a big sound - thumping away in my headphones - intense but packed with lovely melodies and hooks - catchy chorus and vocal is superb - tone and timbre of the voice is very pleasing to the ear - great harmony too - fantastic work on this track - really enjoyed the listen. James
Awesome remix with some cool trance elements.Luv the synths and bline and the vocals sit perfect on top.Great collab...and nice to hear another of Angel's ventures.
Just down right awesome!!! Rated and Nominated Peace, Ron
sounds quite trancy to me with the euphoric synth chords and bouncy bass, vocals done well with just right amount of reverb, top track just one little critisism the kick could do with a bit more compression and eq to make it it clearer and stronger, but aint no big deal, nice one. hang on near the end the kick is louder,I don't know what happened there.
I must have missed this mix, it's absolutely fantastic girls!!!!! I love this mix. It's a belter!!!!
Hi, Back to nom. Cheers, Smudge from Smudgie
Hi, Catchy dance track with powerful vocals. Really like this. Totally got me movin' in my seat (and I have the flu so I'm not too energetic at the moment!) Really like the top-notch catchy synth work throughout...this synth (combined with the strong vocals) is what makes it an excellent track! Great production as usual. Way to go girl...Wickedly delicious!! Rated and will nom asap (ran out). Cheers, Smudge from Smudgie
i enjoyed dancing with where is the love remix, nice music
Really brilliant arrangement. The only thing I would change is to replace the title with a few vocal doodles now and again - because I think it is even too repetitive for dance music! Not by a great deal though. I hate to be critical in any way - because there is so much I admire about this production.
hmm why did i not know about this...? redress, lol you continue to amaze me this is amazing, nice kick and baseline, melodies are all nice and excellent synth choice and for you sonya... niiiiiiiiiice voice, really u can sing good perfect for vocal trance. all nice lyrics and emotion. liked the break down where u like wisper... anyways superb track and rating this top production Matt
Hi Sonya! I haven't been around the site much lately so I'm sorry for not meeting you sooner & hearing your awesome tunes! Way to go to Angel for such a killer good mix here! Turned the volume up on this one! Certainly a great song to dance to! Was feeling pretty tired but this just seemed to perk me up. Most impressed with your vocals, very well done Sonya. Classy tune which I enjoyed! Best wishes with your music & all that you do! ((hugs))
nice opening, the mix is very good, the vocals and singing are bang on the money,synths/bass/percs all hit the spot, goo stuff
Top class track production, performance and songwriting.......really enjoyed......has a very high energy basis which has to be due for a resurgence! Kevin Mooney
Great song, I definitely think there is a market for this, someone should sign you up soon!
Had a listen way back on the 14th, shoulda realized as often as this was cycling in the forum you'd touched it up. Liked it then, likin' it even more now - RedDress did you right, this is really sounding slick and professional. Well done, highly recommended!
awesome voice and song, makes me dance and hum.keep on singing like an angel girl.
Great track...vocals very nice and crystal clear. The production is spot on.......brilliant work you two....gets my rate ;)
very nice mix by miss dress, she has really done something good with this. nice work angel, got loads of classic sounds and upbeat action - sweet bass-lines and synth pingers. yep, you did the right thing by getting the vocals out there, good colab both of you :D
I am always kinda late in gettin to some of the tracks in this and similar genres, mainly due to me being 45, and quite prone to dogdy ailments that big noises can bring on lol. BUT...now and then, usually around the 2nd week after a new track is up, i FINALLY make it there. And im glad i did so. Whilst i know nout of the style, the track flows real nice. I love the vox....but, i know 1st hand what singin in a flat afraid to belt it out is all about....so, hats off to u sonya, u sound just fab to me....and u have a great voice. Great prod on it all RedDress,,,,i envy the skill. Have a late, but well meaning RATE.
Hi Peterquinn, Thanks for the comments, you could be right about the flat and neighbours bit! But besides that I'm still lovin the track!. All the best, Sonya
A decent high energy tune, but lead vocal performance needs to be delivered with more power. It seems as though you are singing in a flat and don't want to upset the neighbours. However the arrangement, lyrics, melodies, harmonies, bassline, drums, synths etc all work very well together. For that reason I'm rating this tune.
Really cool vocals, and a good dance floor filler tune going on. A good collab between you guys. Very pro sounding. ONAGER
Dance is not my regular genre but I enjoyed it. It is not that overpowering and I could imagine it in a club setting working rather well. Good musical and vocal balance with great percussive elements holding it all together. Angel has a great ear for this kind of music!
Yeah this is what I'm talking about. Angels remix has lifted this track so much. The vocals sit perfectly in this mix, very professional and contemporary sound. Great collab. Well done both of you. Can't rate again. Craig
Mmmm, third time I've hit this now...and wow sounding so different now, Musically it sounds BiGGer..lovely synth sounds percs Angel, and those vocals are still shining through Sonya...still a damned catchy number, seriousley great collab, well done both of you :)
Hiya Essence, Thanks for that, looks like I have ruffled a male feather!, anyways thanks for the kind comments, and very much a fan of what you have done with angel too, I know you are both extremely talented at what you both do, and that's what it is about at the end of the day - true talent. Thanks and all the best, Sonya.
Hey Ladies - back for another listen :) Spot on Angel as always. You always capture the Euphoric feeling that good dance tracks are all about in my opinion:) Woop Woop - Female talent is rife at the moment huh Ladies, may ruffle some male feathers lol ;) Sweet mix - more than sweet Angel. This is how I imagined it when I heard it and more ! Great work you two - and big upz Angel. You're work is getting better and better Hun :) Peace xx
Cool - not my preferred genre but can imagine this kicking out at a nice big glitzy nightclub... catchy and massively commercial (if that's what you are going for).
WOW Sonya! Good decision teaming up with Angel, she is getting better and better. You vocals are superb and it is a good hook....rated Andy :)
Really enjoyed this! Couldn't stop nodding my head - very catchy....great vocals...good choice of synths and great beat...=)
Love the music and the vocals.
beautiful remix, Angel...shows the vox in the best light...well done, ladies:)!!
Cool, nothing more to say than rated. This is gonna be mega!!!!!!! Barry
The snare roll was made in 2 steps, first was a kickdrum sample (on FL) then cut into 1/2 steps in random, then another layer which was sequenced into even smaller clips, then finally cut to its limits barely giving a sound. Added a Hi hats and a Snare sequence in the same order, and bingo, one complete snareroll. Hope that made sence lol xXx
OH YEAH. what a cool voice - full of energy and easy confidence - pleasure to listen to you. wonderful pulsing track. enjoyed! anne
cool uplifting remix angel :) i really like the flamed snare roll...sample? or did you program it...i can only get that sound using my padkontrol...very well done if you programed it :) nice vocals and very cool synths...nice dance beat :) don't think i have heard the original...this stands out well as a good dance track well done both of ya's thumbs up
Love the arps in this, you seem to always have good arps in your tracks Red. Percussion is nice and crisp but could do with some variation. Melodies are good throughout too! Like the vocals in this Sonya, you got a very nice voice, think the lyrics in the chorus would sound better with some change involved tho, maybe like Dawn suggested. At 3:48 there is a big build with no impact after, maybe this bit could be reworked a bit? Like the track a lot, nice arps, melodies and vocals, but there's some ideas for you to work on, enjoyed! :)
This is the dog's b0ll0cks. Take a rate (may have done so already). 1 point: there was a nice synth line in the original that I don't hear now. Damn good work by all concerned.
Thanks guys, I know redress is brilliant, I am really excited about this track, and the collaboration I have just had with her! all the best, Sonya Stewart
Sounded cool before, but actually sounds better now in a more contemporary setting, taking nothing away from the feel of the original track. Great job both of you :)
Just so cool the vocals are top, that drum rolls right out there like a machine gun,I am now a fan! Vin
this works well, redress is awesome isn't she?
Hi Sonya, still sounding good girl, great vocal hook to this which was what drew me in last time, re-mix works...nice one :)
Cool track Sonya. I agree with Essence that the music needs to be brought out more but thats an easy fix. Love the vox also. Compression on your beats could be the fix here, other than that it gets a rate from me. Baz
Warmed to this immediately, you've got a great voice and you've coupled it with a great beat here, very danceable. Interesting lyrics! Well done, and rated.
nice little dance tune production tip's all mentioned below your vocal performance sounds brilliant , and i get the sense that is where your heart is and you do the production out of necessity still good tune with loads of potential
Very clear and good sounding vocal. I'm not hearing alot of the music bought out as I would like it. Which is a shame as it is a cracking track. Vox are mixed perfectly - as in all layers sit well and sound level - but the music is lacking. Maybe compress your beats - phatten them up and bring out the bass and cool synthlines..! Good luck - sounding cool ! Peace x
Agree Andy! much fuller sound yet placement is still ajar! Glad to hear harmonies on the cho's now Sonya! The level has deinitely come up...just needs some panning correction! Better job this time!
I'd prefer the refrain "where is the love in that" to be 2's not 4's and some other lines between them....something like Where is the Love in that I have looked but I can't find Where is the love in that Hidden where the sun don't shine Probably a bad choice of lines but you see what mean...it may be that "dance" requires a repetitive beat but does it also require a repetitive lyric? If so, ignore me LOL Apart from that, it's getting there and I do think Andy (James) will steer you correctly on the production things of which I know absolutely ZIP. Very nice vocal by the way :)
Loads better but still problems in the production. The opening vox is extremely good sounding and has a width in the stereo image but it is panned quite left (or right depending on your wiring) and this unbalances the listen. The main verse is extremely monophonic ie. everything (all instruments) have minimal stereo width and this sounds so weird given the panning on the hook vox. I think you have all the sounds here but you need to panorama-ize them across left to right and i would keep all vox and bass stuff central. I know you're trying to make the hook and verse vox sound different in feel but how you've got it doesn't work. Get some 10% stereo reverb on the vox. Having said all this it's a fantastic song so well-done. Hope you appreciate comments cos i'm rooting for this honey.
Cool song, lots of potential, could easily imagine Kylie or someone singing it (I mean that as a compliment by the way), has a few mix issues but the song is the important thing so easy to rate :)
like your voice hun real electronic suited for the genre of dance.. goota have a boucy bline ..and you just got that:) nice melody catchy enough .. drums normal but nice sounding.. and thats a vote lol .. rated!
Love your choice of bass synth - nice and meaty - and the throaty laugh is a good addition too! I love 'quirky' bits. I think you have a great 'dance' voice. Great track to my ears. An easy rate.
This has a very good melody and some very nice touches rhythmically and musically. Vocals sound good but could do with being layered a bit to strengthen them, they're a bit whispery in the verses. The mix also lacks power, given the track less impact than it could have. Still, mix issues aside this is a nice pop dance track. Rated. Craig
I think your opening vox needs a tad working on. You modulate your voice quite a bit at the start and it just seems a little odd. OK 2nd listen and I guess I'm a bit more used to it. You decide. Some nice effects like folk below say. Would like to hear a bit more audio spectrum in the sound and a wider stereo image. Also I reckon a tad more eq on your vox on the top end would make it shine. Nonetheless a well-written song... Hee hee just heard the laugh spoken about below. It sounds pervy and creepy. Still smiling. Take a rate from an old rocker turned pop crooner!!
Hi Sonya, I Agree with Rich, an instantly appealing track, some good effects used, but not sure about the laugh in the context of the vocals, not sure it works, some great synth lines and sounds used, just think the mix needs a little beefed up and your onto a winner :)
Nice dance track! The whole song is def catchy and the vocals really add a nice touch! Like the whispered lines echoing the chorus vocals!Would like to hear some harmonies in the chorus's to build it up a bit! The overall mix seems to be quite low though! A few more dbs in the final mix would really give this song a kick! Good ideas sonya! R8!
From the age of 5, could play various tunes from radio, later composed tunes, added lyrics turning tracks into songs. Assisted in Studio for time, and sang in few bands ranging from pop, soul, rock singing covers & some original material. Experience picked up later became more involved in recording/producing own material.
Main influences have been Madonna, Massive Attack, various dance type productions e.g. Opus III, Robert Miles. Experience in studio/bands gave me a diversity for many original style songs/instrumentals & dance type tracks. Many more tracks can be heard from this website which contains various ideas. Enjoy!!!
Fabulous change to MP3 UNSIGNED. Wishing every success for 2010 x
Hi y'all, My original song 'Don't Want To Wait' recently was remixed by Skreech a talented electronica producer. He used some of the vocals from my song and created a cool, hip mix, more drums and bass orientated than synth. Wish to express thanks to both Skreech and MK Records for their support. The track has been released by MK Records, and is now available at Itunes.
Made no. 1 on Reverbnation pop charts, & tis cool. Anywayz, happy bunny:)
I have just teamed up with RedDress on my track 'WHERE IS THE LOVE IN THAT', and RedDress has just remixed the track with an amazing result - Have a listen, and let us know what you think!: Working link: http://www.mp3unsigned.com/showmp3.asp?mp3id=50227 Sonya/RedDress
