Stephen P. L....n is a veteran of the music scene of Texas, playing
in heavy metal, funk, rap, thrash to psychedelic bands he is known as
a true musician and creative artist.
He is the real deal.
The creator of one of Austin Texas’ biggest draws of the 1990’s
Retarted Elf,
Stephen L....n does not stop there.
Stephen L....n directed and edited his first documentary movie
“Lifers: Rediscovering my muse” in 2001.
Whether it is music, story boarding for video, script writing or just
drawing comics; he finds himself in the studio composing songs.
The result of all his work ends up with a stuffed catalog of music.
Stephen had tracks that fit to Madame Scorpio’s song writing which put her in the studio recording and creating songs for Scorpio Rising.
A lot of hard work went into the result of uniting Scorpio Rising which is the beginning of a fresh sound out of Austin Texas.
Stephen L....n produced and composed with Madame Scorpio “Scorpio Tales” in 2000, a 10 song CD.
Currently, Stephen is producing Scorpio Rising's new CD to be released soon.

Early on, Madame Scorpio kept busy with choir, playing piano and
jamming the cello with the UT string project. An album collection supplied by the
older siblings also occupied her. This combination inspired such activities
of dressing up like kiss with mary-k cosmetics stolen from the mother of girl that
dressed up like ace,
Running around the neighborhood jumping on cars putting on rock shows,
singing rush's 2112, heart..pink floyd...the jackson 5...peaches & herb...
Madame Scorpio also took tons of gymnastics and dance programs to burn the need to perform.

Throughout her later years in school, the technical side of art and video production became a huge
interest and many projects were accomplished.
All evolved to where Madame Scorpio currently is.
1989 to 2000 she took her skills and applied them to the
band Retarted Elf. Known for packed, hot shows of rapping, dancing, and amazing
hand-made props and stage layouts, Madame Scorpio dubbed as the ".... it up dancer"
contributed what came natural.
Madame Scorpio started working on Scorpio Rising songs in the late 90's,
hitting the studio,
laying tracks to music composed by Stephen P Larsen (Wonderbred of elf)
They developed a set of songs to perform live. All came together when long time friend
and past "flag flying dancing machine-called pickles", now known as Buddy Forsythe or Baby Disco
surfaced and the 3, Madame Scorpio,
Stephen P Larsen, and Buddy Forsythe put together the solid group called
“Scorpio Rising”.
Born on September 7th 1966 in Austin Texas to Donald and Bobbie Forsythe, Buddy at age nine entertained his first audience as Ace Frehely in an all air Kiss band. The concert was such a success the band made twelve dollars. The highlight of the evening was when a few kickers from nearby Crockett high school drove by and egg the crowd, missing the band entirely. At age twelve, Buddy saw Johnny Cash with his parents and realized at that time that entertaining was his mission in life. A year earlier Buddy received his first drum set from Sears & Roebuck. During high school Buddy formed a band called Cynwulf which consisted of playing Def Lepard and AC/DC songs. After seeing local legend Watchtower at a co-op party on UT campus in 1983, Buddy started a heavy metal band called Desecration. With very limited vocal ability Buddy began a career as a front man on the local Austin metal scene. Throughout the 80's and 90's Buddy performed in several bands as a Guitar player, drummer, lead singer and also spent a brief stint as a dancer in the popular Austin band Retarted Elf, playing regional cities including Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. Buddy married Ellen Smith in 1994 after performing as a folk duo for two years. Ellen gave birth to Sarah Gayle Forsythe on July 15th 1995, her third child, and their first. To this day Buddy considers himself an entertainer not a musician. With influences such as Phil Lynott, Mick Jagger, David Bowie, and his sister Lisa for which he claims is the true artist in the family. Buddy has developed a style behind the kit that is colorful and dynamic just as his influences were and are. Buddy currently performs with the Sawdawgs and Scorpio Rising in and around the central Texas area |
