I once craved some inspiration for a song, and asked a couple I knew very well to give me a few pointers. Jokingly one of these wonderful people (because they ARE you know!) said "write a song about us!". Well I always feel that inspiration comes from all sides, and this remark got me thinking! You see these two really did love each other, but were always one step away from splitting up! They couldn't stop arguing! Anyway, it was about that time I was thinking how mushy and unrealistic soul lyrics were. Always the same bloody thing! "ooooh yeah baby I luuuurve you, and we're gonna do it all night long" etc etc (yeah right!) So I got the guitar and a pen and started to write this track all based on a melody I had floating around in my head. I’m pleased with it on the whole especially if you take into account that it was done using a Tascam 466 (yes cassette again!) an EPS 16+,a Korg M1 and some seriously good old English!
After I bounced the music onto two tracks I proceeded to Steve Laws for a sax solo, and after some seriously dodgy banter, he came thru once again in style! I then drove off to the mercurial Marvin for vocals, where I proceeded to get loaded! It ended up in a dodgy club where I got my head kicked in by the locals for being far too pretty for own good (that’s another story!), but the following morning sporting a black eye and a hangover you would NOT believe, Marvin the brave and myself got busy - and here is the result!
Happy with all aspects of this, especially backing vox! Yes I am in there somewhere, but do not be fooled by the female voice you hear begging like Keith Sweat as its Marvin playing around! If he'd have known I was going to keep that part, well I think he would be a little slower clowning about on the mike! But it works, and one back for all the fellas, seeing as we are always doing the begging in these sort of situations! (cheers Mr Sweat and certain other "luuurve brothers" out there - you know who you are!)
I know it sounds far fetched but we guys do actually say "goodbye" sometimes and don't have ulterior motives for it. The difference between us and the ladies so far as I see it, is they are far better liars than we are, and no way are they as pathetic! Egos?! Who needs 'em! Enjoy!
Ps. Never, ever go to Chatteris Cambs. For a night out! It will end in tears!

Nobody more than me enjoys a good laugh (even at myself as I hope you can see). However if you want to rate my tracks could you PLEASE leave comments as well!
I can't hope to improve at all if you just drop points on me and bugger off, especially if done maliciously (and if you need to do that to improve your chart position, then may I suggest you attend your parents wedding instead!)
