Joseph Rodriguez

Heart Stealer - Featuring Allan Bell (Rock)

IT takes a lot for me to write a review. Not becuas eof pig-headidness but becasu in my day job I shuffle around a million words a day so you can exceuse me if I get sick of the written word.

Anyway, I was moved to put a few words on to paper because I am being constantly uplifted by the collabs sparked by the superb talents of Joseph Rodriguez.

The Heart Stealer track is just how I believe a rocker should be - in your face, meaty full of memorable riffage, but, above al else a TUNE.

Anyone can bash out a rock track that's laden with guitars and put the odd 'shout' vox in but a good rock track has to hook you until the end and leave you wanting more and Heart Stealer does the business for me.

Undoubtedly, one of Joseph's major successes is the recruitment of Allan Bell on vocals. Blimey, the old adage 'don't judge by appearances' rings so true with our Geiger man Mr Bell..

There he is, a master purveyor of top-drawer electronica, the sort of stuff Messrs Hutter and Scheider of Kraftwerk would be proud to realease, and yet here he is, in a complete turnaround, belting out rock vocals with great aplomb.

What a voice. Takes me right back to the halcyon days of 70s rock. I can imagine Allan and Joseph belting out stadium rock to thousands of appreciative fans.

Joseph's guitar work is definitley up there with the best of them - I'd bet even the super-talented Dan E Peck would agree - and, of course, being able to wring that axe neck to infinity is an added bonus whcih Jospeh brings to this track.

No frills, nor pretensions, just honest upfront rock.

Keep e'em coming , you two.
