Next up is a Tedd-Z track called 'clock' which is very much more in my area of personal listening, being more electronic based and instrumental in nature. Actually I felt an immediate affinity with the track because I had just done a very similar slightly ambient feel slight myself and this one seemed to be going for that area of sound as well. How do you explain a track like this to someone who doesn;t like electronic music ? Well, really it's about setting up a mood or theme based purely on a motif or melody, not adhering to rules of song structure like verse, chorus etc, where the actual feelings the song suggests are more important than a narrative path.

What always strikes me first when listening to anything Tedd-Z does is that he has very much his own sound, now I have no idea what equipment he uses or synths or instruments, but he definitely has a very strong musical identity. This track is actually one his most pretty melody lines, there's very little filler in the track, it ebbs it flow, rather like the water fx he uses suggests, there some very nice and unusual samples which have been slowed down dramatically to give a glitchy feel to section. I detected some very nice evolving pads, some pretty bell like tones, a well played piano line (well more in a musical box type register), some fx almost suggesting a rhythmic structure, a return of a very moogish sounding bass pattern. Then we have a very cool brass type part (with shades of yello) followed by a triplet feel parping synth arp line which focusses the track for a bit, and spme more evolving pads. We then get a small section with some heavily gated drums which form a small meoldiv section where many of the lines and themes return. Really like the drum line by the way. This stops and the track winds down with some pad and fx. What struck me most about the track (and I listened to it a lot of times lol) is that it's very well arranged, I never lost interest in following it, or felt any section was out of place or badly played. All of the elements blend very well together, and although I have had a a couple of mix issues with Ted's stuff in the past, I have no problems here, mix sounds clean with no clipping and everything seems well spaced and cohesive (the brass, and bass arp and the actual bass line deserve a special mention as they cut right through the mix and sound great)

Actually I liked the track far more than I though I was gonna and was quite surprised it had so few rates, so either my tastes are right of the boil or the track is just not getting the love it deserves :) So to summarise, very pretty track, well played, well mixed, very much a mood piece, but one I would listen to again (I stole a download lol) and quite a surprise and actually inspired me to write a new track so job done for me :)
