The Meena :
Used to be a Drum and Bass DJ starting about 14 years ago on pirate radio and then playing in many clubs in the North of England and additionally for the big Vibealite and Pleasuredomes nights around the UK and also abroad in Amsterdam. Was resident in a number of clubs including The Republic and Corporation nightclub's in Sheffield and D.O.P.E in Leeds. Started making music at this time initially with an Atari ST and a little Roland sampler. Other than Drum and Bass, main music loves always been techno which explains how i have ended up DJ'ing and making Electro and Tech House. Joined up with an old friend Nikjam and we realised we shared a passion and have been producing music since then.
Nikjam :
Started his music career as a House Music
DJ playing free parties in Sheffield in the
early
90s, for amongst others the 'Them on the
hill' sound system. He then moved on to
playing clubs around the north of England including 'The Biscuit
Club'(GT Yarmouth), 'Capitol', and the legendary 'Niche'. He has been making music from the mid 90s,
attending a music technology course in the late 90s. At the beginning of 2000 he took a break from
music for a while, then in 2005 the draw to go back in the studio was too great,
so he thought it was time to set up is own studio, and started producing
electro house, and tech house under the name "Nikjam". In 2006 he then hooked up with his production
partner "The Meena" and started producing music together as
"Nikjam and the Meena".
