I was born on a Military base in Alaska and moved around to several places before the age of 10, my parents were from the east and west coast, dad is from Philly and mom is from L.A. and I have spent time in both locations at one time or another in my life. My mom finally settled down in Detroit hence the Motown influence. I grew up in a neighborhood that was known for it’s musical presence, many well known artists who came from there have gone on to achieve greatness in the music industry. I first developed a fondness for music especially jazz during my early teen years mainly listening to such artists as the Jazz Crusaders, Tom Scott and the LA Express, Bob James, MFSB, Deodato, Grover Washington Jr. just to name a few. I decided to purchase my first keyboard back in 1987, while serving in the Air Force (now retired) in Japan I was really feeling Jeff Lorbers music at the time. I have since moved on from that first keyboard to build a modest home studio outside of Detroit. I would best describe my sound as a blend of smooth jazz, new age with a touch of rnb “hip-soft” is the self defined term, I use to describe this style of music. I have been greatly influenced by many artists from Bob James to Luther Vandross to Dancing Fantasy. The music I hope gives you a feeling of relaxation, if so then I have succeeded. I hope to someday to hit the road for some live performances in the near future. I recently completed my first project “Blu for U” and teamed up with London based sax player Martin Sharpe for three of the songs “Down Hill Glide”, “French Connection”, Late Night Log” the cd has been released via CD BABY and can be purchased @ http://cdbaby.com/cd/motownmoe it’s also available on iTunes and Amazon music. I am currently working on “Metro Dreams” my next project some of the new songs have been provided here for your listening pleasure and can be purchased as singles exclusively on http://www.isound.com/motown_moe until the album is officially released.
