A New Beginning
Don't drown the oboe Mikey! The timpanis are fine but need to be drawn out before the cymbal crash at 0.55, they stop too soon. I am trying to write as I hear. Love the strings btw. second crash is good at 1.57. At 2.12 lighten the strings more even elect a solo violin for a counter melody maybe. As you say it is short but hey it is a lovely piece. The beginning needs more instrumentation after 0.15 it needs an injection of solo violins. Hey Mikey this is only my opinion and you have done a superb job ...be proud my friend and at the end of the day who am I? Take Care Andy :)
Nice flowing theme weaving through with the rich strings and woodwinds...very organic feel. Timpani rhythms/rolls work well...along with the cymbal swells....dramatic :) The arpegg strings are a nice touch...simulated arpeggs can let a track down,but they really lift it here. Like the final section too ,with the theme and key changes. Perfect for a Quest type game me thinks.Nice work.
MSL~ good hearing your music again, I adore the spirit of this track... it rather soars high~ just beautifully done! =Bravo= I'm not sure what game you have in mind for this, (as per genre choice) but it's placement just about anywhere would be worthy. (with any new beginning~ good things can happen, if we believe) I do remember you back from 2006-ish? Hope all has been well for you.
