How are things in Tokyo, Phil? I recall this from last year, but bigger beats lift this...very interesting blend of sounds you have let loose here...1:25 introduces a more contemporary sub/kick/snare...almost a hip hop flourish...all a bit of wonderment..a sonic tonic. :)

This is a delightful and very well sequenced composition, Phil! You’ve got the ethnic inflections down pat! Am I hearing Garritan World Instruments in the mix? I am very fond of that library with its 300+ sounds, representing the entire globe in musical instrumentation. Whatever you are using, I do enjoy this little exotic treat for the ears.

Thanks for the comments! DJC, there used to be a "boys' day" on May 5th in Japan, but at some point it was renamed "children's day" to include girls. The customs still seemed to be more catered for boys (displaying a replica samurai helmet for example), so it was later decided to create a separate "girl's day" on March 3rd called Hina Matsuri - Dolls Festival. The Doll in the artwork is my daughter's. :)

A very fascinating piece that keeps one's attention. The Eastern traditional instruments spin a curious web, complimented nicely with the synth sounds. Great job; well done.

I remember this, it's beautiful and dramatically derived. It's ancient till the bass bring us up to date along with the long stride of the synth pad. Looking forward to a finish line.
