Moving Slow
JayD5ivE (born Joshua David Knight) was born in January of 1983. He was raised in a very musical family and he quickly grasped a true love of music. He spent most of his childhood listening to his Father and Uncle play various styles from Rock to Blues in their own bands, which they have been in various bands his whole life. This early influence led to his broad appreciation of musical styles. For the past 18 years, he has crafted his ability in writing lyrics, flow, singing, playing guitar, drums, and producing beats for various artist. At a young age, JayD5ivE was forming a love for Rap/Hip-Hop. Among those early influences were acts such as 2-pac, Bone Thugs, Outkast, Beastie Boys, and Easy E. Later on, acts like Eminem, ICP, Tech N9ne, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, and even the recent up and comers like Yelawolf, Rittz, B.o.B., etc. His passion for music also derived from other musical forms like Silverchair, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Queen, and Green Day to Pop influences like Avril Lavigne, Pink, Fall Out Boy, Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Paramore. In early 2000, this passion for music took another turn. He began to create and record his own songs. He formed several rock bands early in his 'teens, but began his first Rap group in the Fall of 2000 under the stage name, J-LovE, with another local rapper known as Twyst. Later in 2001, J-LovE and Twyst made an alliance with more local talents; Raffy G, Iceburg, Baby J, and King Tutt to form the "420 Gangstas". After performing several shows together over the next three years, some left the group to focus on solo projects leaving J-LovE and Raffy G. In late 2004 , the two hooked up with the larger-than-life, self-proclaimed Mexi-King of the South, Solow G, forming their next group "CDT". The trio performed shows and even opened up for acts like Pastor Troy, Backwoodz, and several other big artists. After four years, CDT wanted to pursue their own solo careers and the decision was made to split the group. In 2008, J-LovE dropped his stage name and started anew with the name, JayD5ivE. He then began brainstorming ideas with Ceker (formerly known as Iceburg from 420 Gangstas) and culminated a fresh new sound they called "The Architypes"; blending rock, soul, hip-hop, pop, and rap. It wasn't until they met with rapper Maverick the Ace that their unique sound and unusual musical blends officially came together. The three of them kept writing songs and brainstorming ideas with each other over the next two years and in 2010, Architype Studios was ready to explode into the music stream. Now JayD5ivE is CEO of Architype Studios and remains close working with his home team in Cedartown, GA as well as reaching further into all of Northwest Georgia. Architype Studios is currently working with local artists Skinny Jay, Pope, Solow G, Ques of Southern Folk, and An-Ti with the list of acts steadily growing.
