Nice track. Really like the piano part. Great vibe you have created here. Nice vocals too. Thumbs up.
I'm no jazz aficionado, but gotta say this is a smooth track dude.Cool ivories, catchy bass and even the brass hits the spot. Everything sits in mix really well.
Excellent smokey lounge vibe...keyboards are the feature...nice light touch...great selection of jazz ensemble instruments...the smokey lounge feel is completed with your vocal track. Super job! Loved the guit work too...especially the double notes at the end of the instrumental. Well done...sweet style.. ;) Thumbs.
Great track, nice piano playing on this too! Loving it. Great mix.
Hi Andy, this is a really smooth jazzy track and there is something really feel good about this. Just noticed the Christmasy lyrics and they are the icing on the cake. This is a cool track with a great title. A good follow up track to your classic So Ya Wanna Be A Soldier. Hope you have a Happy New Year and thanks for the great music this year. PJ
Shoo-be-dooby-do-tastic maaan! This is laid back lounge lizard MEGA :) mood vibe.... Cool Andy lovely velvet production. SWEET!
Not a big jazz fan but you certainly capture the vibe well. Love the lyrics, you have a real gift for words...
Love the way this ticks along, cool, smooth track. Great guitar and piano. Nice work! Dawn-Marie
Yes! Playing this loud, and relishing every note...Keyboards sound fantastic, and I got no complaints with these vocals at all. Lead guitar is sweet, definitely a steely dan vibe to this arrangement, but so uniquely you all the same. I can hear the Dawn Sinclair coming through as well, nice lines, both of ya! Well done, see the big smile on my face!
This is right up my street. A great idea for the Christmas season instead of the usual jingle stuff you hear around this time. Your vocal suits this genre perfectly.I can picture you sitting in a piano bar in New York performing this. The whole thing feels so smooth and glides along taking the listener with it.A great track to just chill out to. Hi Andy - a xmas song with a difference - a nicely produced jazz track - lead guitar and piano are highlights for me - love the solo sections - everything else is tight as and has that authentic jazz feel (bass and drums) - you mention that you feel your vocal isnt right (timing and pitch) - to be honest i dont hear that - vocal quality plus timbre and tone suits this type of track perfectly - and im not just being nice cos you beefed up the Alive xmas tune :-) well done to you and Dawn on your lyrical collaboration - witty words indeed - thumbs.
D/L taken thanks! Like the brass additions, finishes it off a treat. I love this kind of song...so easy to relax to.
Great Opening , Cool Piano playing Andy , deffo got the jazz feeling all over it , Perfect Production as usual , im also Loving the skip along beat going on , and all that jazz ........ Vocals sound good too mate . All the Best Degs
Unexpected Jazzy song from you Andy. Lyrics reflect the way many people feel so well done both. Style suits your voice and that guitar and brass is right on the money. Piano tickled nicely too. Merry Xmas.......
Very nice Andy. Very enjoyable, classic sound with your usual first rate quality to my ears. Between you and Dawn, the wordage is excellent..geetar sweet and the ivories are first rate....
New version with brass up. Not mastered.
James, This has a wonderful old school sound to it. Enjoyed the intro and the keys as well as the sweet sounding jazz guitar with it's nice tone. Vocal is not at all shabby either. Would have been interesting to hear the accompaniment of Wigmore/Bell as they shine with these kind of tunes. Great Holiday Sound!
Works for me Andy...the smokey vox work really well on this (jazz clubs are not conducive to smooth buttery voices. Piano is pretty amazing and everything else works just beautifully. I wouldn't say last verse is too much of a downer....I mean, hey you wrote that one so I can say that hand on heart :)
really nice piano line. cool bluesy jazz number that starts to grow and bop with the guitar add. almost a bit of a steely dan influence with the progression down. coolness
I began recording songs in January 2006. Genre is rock, pop and jazz with electronica dabbles on a few toons. It's a hobby for me. I record using cubase.
Home studio using a PC, yamaha keyboard, a couple of guitars, a Digitech effects unit and a mic. I use cubase for recording/mixing and wavelab for mastering. I've got a rode NT1A mic for vocal.
A strange fact - in 1976, the term "Mega" was 1st coined by me and came into general usage as meaning something great or awesome. I was an apprentice electrician at the time and "mega" was a technical prefix meaning "a million times". I remember that all my fellow students started using the term so maybe this was down to me. Nobody hardly says it anymore so i guess it's run it's course.
Another strange fact - i designed a telephone for use in a mortuary
Nice strong melody & energy to this track, would be great for the movies.
wow i felt like i was actually at a pink floyd concert excellent tune.
James Oakwood is a new name to me from MP3 Unsigned but hey, he is a man in love with his bed obviously so he's cool by me. He's also a rock artist which, as you well know, definitely fine by me. According to his webpage, he's only been writing and recording since 2006 and features a tasty pick of all his kit (is that a Dell?); the kind of stuff you need to make rock music. Even
Wooohooo!
A refreshing track about my fave place, I love it!
Keep em comming Mr Oakwood!!
