a) If you are referring to sample use that you have recorded then the answer is yes. Like in Reason 3 you can use the sampler bank rather than the sampler patch on an NN19
correct answer would be if you use the nn-xt  there is a pull down on it you click it and the nn-xt opens up... you then load a wav file... then you have to route it to a key...and then your on fire

i think you'll find we're both right
You can sample in the NN19 also, but it's shabby and not focused like the NNXT where you can multi-pul sample on one sampler

Just to make it a bit clearer for u.  You can only export as wav from reason but you can use any wave editor to convert it to mp3 - i use adobe audition or soundforge but there will definitely be free one's available for you, u just load in the rendered wav and save it as an mp3.

Also, consider looking on youtube for reason tutorials, i don't know of any for sure but i bet there will be a few on there - a great resource for stuff like that.

1) Once you're finished making a song, can you then "render" it into an mp3 file?  I want to be able to, you know, make CDs at some point.

a) Well exporting as a WAV file, like you can do already, will be a hell of a lot more beneficial when creating an album. WAV files are better quality

2) Can you import your own sample files into Reason?  I want to get a field recording device and track down weird sounds to use with the program.

3) What would the best book be for a noob to look at

a) The Reason Manual (no joke)

no worries!

Hello all,

I'm just about set to buy Reason 3.0 because I seem to be enjoying it.  (Reason 4.0 has some too-massive minimum requirements to run.)  But I want to ask some really, really dumb questions.  Please help!

1) Once you're finished making a song, can you then "render" it into an mp3 file?  I want to be able to, you know, make CDs at some point.

2) Can you import your own sample files into Reason?  I want to get a field recording device and track down weird sounds to use with the program.

3) What would the best book be for a noob to look at?

Thanks so much!
