Where's my glowstick?
Ha ha loving this. Bounce Bounce Bounce! Love the synth hook and vox fits perfectly. Feels kinda Royskopp in sound. You know something you just can beat fun, oldskool style dance music with great hooks and energy with sampled vocals to match. I'd have this over any of today's mish mash of remixed pop songs any day! Deserved thumbs!!
Have to agree with DJFrankieHolmes - this is easily my favourite FC song so far. So upbeat, happy and fun. Doesn't take itself too seriously, but works all the better for it. Transports me back to euphoric days on the dancefloors of my youth :) Thumbz up!
I can totally see anime behind this. A ot of movement here and it all swells up into this bundle of happy hipster hop.
Uptempo happy dance track...like the title :) great stuff! ;-)
This may just be my favorite Forbidden Colours song... I have been listening to this over and over, studying it and trying to figure out how the heck I can do something similar to this, but it's just so complex I'm not sure I could pull it off. So happy and fantastically upbeat and uplifting! It sounds great through my speakers, but when I listened through my earbud headphones it sounded like it needed to be re-mastered, however sometimes my ears play tricks on me and that wouldn't be the first time I've said that a perfectly mastered song needed to be re-mastered so... never mind that. Unless of course you still have the original split down and you agree with me, then I would say go for it and crank those highs! Seriously though, I could listen to this over and over and never, ever get tired of it. Where's my glowstick? captures the mood of a happily intoxicated rave party in some abandoned warehouse at 2:00 AM and really more than that, it captures what life is really all about. This is the kind of music that I live for, an idealistic expression of a better and perfect world. Mark & Andy you guys have made the world a substantially better place through creating this masterpiece of techno based electronica!!! You have asserted the supremacy of Welsh composers like yourselves and Hybrid as well if I'm not mistaken. You are Welsh right!?? ...and honestly, I'm doing my best here, the Welsh come from Wales which is part of the United Kingdom! Nervously, I'm still unsure that I got all that right, but it's OK because this song ROCKS SO HARD!! Yes! Raise your glowsticks high for FORBIDDEN COLOURS!!!
not what i listen to at all but i quite enjoyed this its really cathy it has the gong vibe which i like a lot you got me vote
This track was very well composed, everything is flowing, the vocals are nice too. rated
Trippy rhythmic sounds and energetic beat. Who needs caffeine when you listen to this driving beat? I just woke up and I already feel like I'm ready to start the day! Now if I can just find my glowstick I can begin my day! LMAO! I don't know how you did this, but it is cool!
It has a very euro feel and a love the chord changes! It all comes together with those superb vocals!!! Loads of energy created from the synths, vocals and beats..........Normally, the initial tempo would have put me off, but I'm glad I stayed with it, it's a beauty and not typical of the genre!!! Well done sir!!!!!!!!!!!
Holly ... this is taking me back to my LSD days, pro sound and great vibe to this one, almost like a waltzers tune at the shows. BIG BIG TUNAGE! RESPECT : )
Super track, you have really captured a happy space-time vibe here, something like a hippy collective rave in the Australian outback, type of vibe (at least for me)
I love the synths, buts that's just me also, the only sounds I don't like from synths (software or hardware) are the one's that are too harsh or "digital", none of that here!
Where's my glowstick... haha... you must be a blast of fun to hang around. Always something cool & interesting. Nicely done, you! (:dance!:) =Kudos= :)
Love the title, really cool bass line, like REALLY cool! I agree with Bob, this song is loads of fun! Some really spontaneous and unbridled energy and passion here. So many different sounds bouncing around in there. This may not be getting much attention now on MP3U but I guarantee that at some undetermined point in the future this will go to #1 on the rave/club/dance charts. Easily one of the most beautiful electronic compositions I have ever heard. Stunning! Thumbs WAY up on this!!!
another fun tune...
Forbidden Colours are a Swansea (South Wales, UK) based band who discovered synthesisers in 1979 and, after years of study have finally found the little button that turns them on. We are Mark Newton and Andy Jonah, a control freak and fat boy respectively. We have been influenced by many people, including our bank manager, the electricity board and a hypnotist named the amazing Mesmo.
We would describe our music as having been written by us, musically, using some instruments in a style which is usually the complete opposite of what we started out to write, but which, nonetheless is surprisingly good. We hope one day to pioneer the practice of playing air-synths. We are possibly the only Welshmen in existence who can't sing (we were thrown out of the choir for shoving), but we're not that worried because the music is the thing. When not writing music we generally tend to stare off into space listening to whatever tunes our inner DJ's spin in our heads. Contrary to everything written here, we do take our music seriously. Biographies, on the other hand...
Mark Newton: Vocals (well he calls them vocals), Vocoder, Lead guitar, Synthesisers, Samplers, Percussion
Andy Jonah: Backing vocals, Vocoder, Bass guitar, Synthesisers, Samplers, Percussion (tea and welsh cakes)
We are currently looking for a Swansea based vocalist, male, female, transgender or even hermaphrodite. (We don't care just so long as you can carry a tune in a bucket.)
