Mix sounds pretty good to me Dan. Just a little compressed in sound quality, probably due to low bit rate mp3? Anyhoo...its an interesting track...good vocals, like the heavy guitars and soft synth lines. Nice work.
love the live rock sound your producing on this track, vocals straight in your face , a great catchy song,
big thumbs up,
i always like a good rock song and i liked this song like punk rock with keyboards which works really well an enjoyable song it got me rocking
Can hear some of your punk band coming through...sweet...electro-punk sound when you use that new keyboard...distortion guitar gives it that edge...liked that change at the very end...lots of interesting turns in here from start to the end.
A very cool song, I'll be back for another listen later today, I like this style, very good singing an guitar work, excellent drumming, great words!
Bouncy power pop rock, love these guitars! Vocals are good, slight mixing issues better ears than mine have already commented on. Interesting choice of tones on the keyboard, haven't heard that in awhile. A good song! Looking forward to hearing your next.
Hi Dan...a great song you got here..loads of energy and "drive" to it! ..superb ending too. Vocals seem spot on to me..everyones got diff. tastes I suppose.. I took your advice and re-loaded F.U. with a much reduced lead guitar. Cheers keith
I like this song! Really cool, rhymic melody line for the vocals. Great energy to this as well. Good performance! Enjoyed this! Thumbs
Really enjoyed this
its a classic driving down the motorway song, foo fighters spring to mind. a thumping heart cool song
good song mate :) great guitar, melody and drums. Really makes me want to go out and get an electric guitar!
This is normally not "my kind of music", but I REALLY like this. Reason: You show great talent both musically and lyrically. --- It was pointed out, that the vocals are too loud. I do not see it as a matter of loudness (in my ears you sound just right). It is more a matter of chosing the right reverb for the vocals. I hear two layers in the mix - one up front (the vocals) and another in the background (the instruments). I get the impression, that the voice is in a different room. Try to make the voice part of the band, and I don´t think, that the loudness will be a problem. / Peo
Enjoyed this Dan, powerful but melodic, i like that. Rated, Gibbo
Lots of enjoyable, raw energy in your music. I'll be anxious to see how your music develops as you add keys etc.
Thankyou guys for your comments and direction. Yes I think my vocals are actually too loud on reflection..guess Im just so worried about losing them in the mix!
A new toy to play with is always exciting and you have certainly captured it in this frantic paced song with the backing. Good melody line and lyrics and hard to sing and breath between lines in this genre but you pulled it off!! Agree that the vocals are a little out front but we are all guilty of that sometimes! Well done!
I don't want to stir things up here... okay I do. I like the vocal presence loud and in yer face although I know what Andy means. I think it's a matter of tastes. As far as your vocal delivery, I like it and feel it suites the songs overall stride at the same time I hear what Erik is saying as far as the comfort factor. I hear excitement in your voice like you really enjoyed singing this. Just my take. Nice work dude and the production sounds pretty good especially for a newbie at recording.
Hi Dan. Long-time no hear. Derby? I forget now. Anyways, what I hear about the vocals is that they are a little high in the mix dude. I don't hear what Erik hears re the vocal - might be a cross-atlantic and all-the-way-to-LA thing!!!! Enjoyed and liked the mix despite the vocal loudness. Thumzup dude.
Your music is cool, reminds me of a cross between Bad Religion/Pennywise and the B-52's (the keyboard makes me think 80's new wave.) I really dig your lyrics. Nice work. If you don't mind a little constructive criticism, I notice you're already aware of the mixing - but a little more practice on the vocals until you KNOW the lyrics, so you can get into the words you are saying, rather than singing the words - if you know what I mean. I think if you were into these lyrics (I already mentioned how good they were) then tell your story on this tune, that this could be something really good. Enjoy that new keyboard!
I like the Greenday/Offspring vibe to this song. Nice guitar work and a very catchy melody. Thumbs up!
Been writing, composing, singing songs for bout 15 years now. (im 32) Been in a pop punk band called push the boundaries but never took off due to different reasons and the fact I also live in a town where live music isn't the 'in' thing. Joined this site for a bit of direction, as im not the best when it comes to using cubase and mixing. Im certainly more of a song writer then a producer. Ps. If you like my material the please follow me on twitter @DanMartinBrown and also my Facebook page 'Dan Martin Brown music page'
I try to write catchy songs. Songs that are lead by an infectious melody. My guitar style is pretty simple but I'm now experimenting with keyboards too.
In 2013 I set myself a challenge to write and record my own solo album for a hobby. I enjoy posting my songs on here so I can improve my mixing and make the songs sound better. I still have loads to learn, the main thing is EQing!!! I just dont get it, but it seems one of the main things to make the sound sit better!!! I will carry on researching lol
Overwhelmed by all the comments on my song 'The Window'
Trying to come up with a few new tracks!!
Massive Thankyou to everyone that had took the time to listen to my song so far!
After 6 years away from this site I'm back with new solo tracks after a 3 year stint with a pop punk band! Will be uploading new songs very soon as I have set myself to write and record an album by dec 2013! It's a little hobby, fun challenge kinda thing!
