As Clinker, we have just started making our new album "Thru the Fly Machine" available as a FREE download. We’ve sat on it for a few months wondering what to do with it, but after much discussion we decided that we’d rather just give it away and let you all have it. We’ve started giving it away at gigs too on CD, so if you want a hard copy get along to one of our gigs and we’ll have a limited supply there. Gig Schedule: 1st Oct 2009 @ Tommy Flynns, Camden, London 29th Oct 2009 @ The Legion, Old Street, London It’s an album that we are extremely happy with. It says more about what Clinker stands for than anything else we’ve done in the past. 12 tracks, including The Line, Searching For a New World, Hallucination Generation, Mire and Let’s Go Out and Get ....ed. So get downloading, via our website… http://www.clinker.org.ukKert Semm, a top Estonian journo, has reviewed our album for their national newspaper. He’s also got his own English review site and the translated review is up on there for you to read. He gave us an 8.4/10 rating for it!!! New tune. A new tune. It won't be featured on their forthcoming album, "Thru' the Fly Machine", but is likely to feature on one of their legendary EPs in the near future. Video is directed by Tomoko Matsumoto, influenced by 90s shoegaze, space rock, psychedelia.
We are releasing our album “Clinker” for FREE for download to mailing list subscribers. Release date is 20th December 2008. To get hold of it, please visit our website below and sign up to our mailing list (or just let us know your email address and we’ll make sure you get one). http://www.clinker.org.uk or http://www.reverbnation.com/clinker123 The album was finished in January 2008 and was very representive of our live set at the time, plus an extra dollop of Clinker oddness on the side. We were (and still are) very happy with it. By March, we’d lost our bass player (Joe). We spent the rest of this year trying to suitabley replace him, so we could finally be able to make the album widely available and play the songs live regularly. During this time, we carried on recording and it soon become clear the next album was going to sound quite different. Now we have another new one almost finished which is the next step on for us. So we’ve decided to give this one (“Clinker”) away. Take it it’s yours (on December 20th)!!!
