Marshall Lee Bland A.KA. “Big Goon” was the second born son to Temp and Shirley Bland. Born in Monticello, Georgia, at the age of 3 the family relocated to Fort Myers, Florida, the city of Palms. Fort Myers is the home of Atlantic Records recording artist Plies and NFL players: Jevon Ke...., Phillip Buchanan, Greg Spires, and former NFL player Deon Sanders. Big Goon’s mother would often say out of all five of her children, he was the most challenging. All of Big Goon’s challenges quickly earned him a bed in the Orlando Correctional Institution on drug charges at the age of 18. The call of the drug life and fast money became too strong and Big Goon answered that call and started trafficking drugs. In Orlando Correctional Institution he learned that life was not a game. Here he discovered his talent for writing lyrics and rapping. He learned and practiced his craft with as much passion as he tackled the drug life that got him in prison in the first place. To past the time away Big Goon would perform for other inmates and officers. His audiences truly enjoyed his performances. He knew than that the music industry was truly his calling. Big Goon is indeed a lyricist, his vocals are strong, steadfast, and powerful. He brought realism and life experience to lyrics that will get you to think and feel life’s struggles. Big Goon is a multi-talented artist who writes, raps, and arranges all of his own tracks. Each song demands attention, listen carefully because there is a message hidden in the music.
