Thanks for comment on my track Grassland. For horse noises I used audio that I downloaded from Internet horses video
I love celtic music ! Great atmosphere..it make me feel the breath of Ireland....
it's strange but i feel so close to this sound. Great track!
A fine representation of all things Irish..pipes, drums (bodhrán), strings...and I like the banjo section myself (the timbre added to the soundscape)...would make a good musical setting for a film. What is a VSTi in here and what is performed? At times some of the background thumps sounded like a mic'd instrument...drums scuffed perhaps or breathing into the pipes? Energetic and frenzied, lots of beer swilling and laughter...gotta love that passion for life! More about you, the instruments, the composition would be appreciated!
Hi Desmond,This is a great track. Are you using music libraries or playing all the instruments here? It's a great sound and production. This could be in a movie/tv soundtrack. great stuff.
Interesting folk melody of obvious Irish origin and generally treated well with what sounds like Uilleann pipes. I'm not really 'au fait' with dynamics & compression and stuff but I'd say that James is correct in his observation as he is one of our resident sound gurus & certainly knows what he is talking about. Great work anyhow; well done.
Thanks for stopping by my latest. Vocal re-tuning (agreed but that's as good as it gets for me hehe). Drums a bit tinny (a matter of taste LOL). Boring guitar solo - nobody but me to blame. On to yours. I think the guitar parts sound great (later on) but the midi-sounding banjo is what it is - a minor weak spot. If it's a real banjo then you have almost robotic qualities in the plucking and my sincere aplogies LOL. But who knows - maybe you should say a little bit more about yourself and explain how you make your music. I suppose the real killer for me was your big compression - it kills the dynamics. I'd also have been tempted to put a little more stereo width into the mix but this is a matter of taste. I think a tad more bass and a lift in the spectrum above ~4 kHz would bring some shine to this slightly dull sounding tune. Thumzup though - the musicianship and writing is excellent Desmond.
Sounds good to me; Dublin, look out! Nicely played, those are some deft strokes on the strings when they come in, and is that you on that bagpipe and flute? Ha ha, this day and time it's so hard to tell, but even if ya whupped this up entirely on keyboard it's been a pleasurable few listens. Had a chuckle at your comments on Ray's tune, he's a great guy and joined me on Watching Shannavision. Got a friend in Brisbane, there's probably a few hundred thousand of ya there but it's nice to meet another.
