Above The Taj Mahal
This is so different and refreshing. I love it's intensity. Your delivery is a head turner!
Well received by audiences and reviewers, Daniel Pettitt performs regularly on the North East folk circuit and at festivals. Daniel is a prolific singer songwriter, with over a thousand recordings and thirty original albums since 1993. In 2010 he published a lyrics book that sold in the North East. A maverick talent, Daniel fronts his own dynamic band, but he can simply trust his guitar and voice to conjure other worlds, and illuminate this one.
Influenced by Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Richard Thompson and Nick Drake, his style remains inimitably his own. He has led a number of bands and collaborated with a variety of musicians, recently supporting Polly & The Billet Doux on tour. His songs are shining examples of classic songwriting, traditional balladry and social commentary, distinguished by his strong melodic sense and winning way with words.
Daniel has lived and played music in North Yorkshire, the South East and the South West, and is now based on the North East coast, where his heartfelt melodic work has won him plaudits and sizeable crowds. An award winning schoolboy poet, he had the impeccable sense to grow up into a songwriter of rare distinction.
