Nice laid back tune! Dig the keyboard playing. Very nicely played of all instrumentation parts. Nice production as well. Great job. Enjoyed! Thumbs
Ahhh a true muso.some damn fine keyboard skills on show here. The piano has a wonderful tone@ 2mins love those chord stabs :)
OMG ! he said Muzak LOL .... I resign
I know this isn't about the music, but I have to say, you've got the coolest profile picture I have ever seen... hands down. This is a wonderful Jazz snippet of unexpected goodness!! You are hitting every proper note to achieve a sustained frequency that induces a feeling of well being... all the way through, good vibes, and it's all very cool man. This might even fall under the category of Muzak genre depending on where you played it and at what time, and I like that genre too. In fact I would say that I like about 95% of all music genres and your style is also one I like very much. Wonderful, inspiring piece you've crafted here. Well done!!! - DJ Frankie
Super remix Phil! -Mike

Glad I stoipped by Phil. Blimey, 7/8 time? That would drive me daft trying to figure that template out.lol. Lots going on to enjoy. Clear as a bell.
Bass and that horn shine kickin' this off, and then some tasty, tasty keyboard swooping and swirling though the mix, this is hot! Such precision, such class, Funky Claude's is where I wanna be.....
Oh this is cool, love the start of this. Unique in parts and love that bass. Experimental done the right way! Great
Trippy jazz in my book. Sultry vibe - got a soundtrack feel. Rated. John & Paul
Yeah cool work fella...love the time sig used and the funky vibe. Crayzy beauty :-) really enjoyed. Live on.
You are quite an artist, Phil! I heard the original mix and can hear clear improvements in this revision. Your use of an asymmetrical meter works well and your inspired improvisations ride the 4+3 wave beautifully!
wait commented in the wrong song lol
I love the clean groove the sensual horns if I had eternal sunshine would I be singing the blues ? hmm well why not ? why not indeed ! Jazz blues at its independent best !!
Didn't hear the first mix but i have to say, this is excellent, a real funky groove. Great work Phil, easy vote. Gibbo
Love your sound.
Now the mix is perfec as I hear it! The new mix has brought new life to the performance! Well done! --/Peo
Thanks for all your comment on this track Here is the Remixed version - .... Added some character to the Tenor Sax - (cuban heels and string tie :) Improved the EQ on the Bass Narrowed the field slightly on the drums (Introducing Gerry Stomper on drums, long lost nephew of Cap'n Casio, just out of rehab:-) Improved the presence on Piano & Rhodes. Mastered with an even reverb (per Master Peo) After all that I hope it sounds better !!
Phil, this is just superb! You say you didn't want to hash it? -Well you didn't! Excellent little piece of jazz fusion for the ears (when I say little I don't mean short in length). Enjoyed all six minutes and eighteen seconds of this in its entirety! (check "entirety" I don't think its even a word?). -Mike
Respect jazz....:D love it Phil!!...loose and wandering...a free spirit in here....found it at Funky Claude's lol!..yeah, whatever the electronic keybd is, that riffage is wondrous! Keep it loose and improvisational...soooo coool! Enjoyed ! Thumbs!
This is my kind of jazzy funk! The performance really lifts, when the organ comes in. Like the "live feel" of the whole performance! One minor observation: I get the impression, that the different instruments are playing in different rooms. I would try to move the Orchestra together by using a similar reverb effect on all the tracks and ev. change the volume of some instruments to achieve the impression of a united "live" band playing in the same room. --/Peo
Got to admit I'm a jazz fan too. Lovin' the brass work :) Think this is my first visit to your page? Lovin' the Hammond? or is it a Wurlitzer could be a Clavinet too. Big fan of those keys :) think you could push the bass up a touch? very tidy.Long fade out. Peace,Ricky
No hash here! This has a real smooth delivery and sounds authentic as it gets to my ears and I love jazz. Melody has that meandering kind of thing that a lot of old timers like to play with. Claude's ears must be ringing with a wide grin.
Hi,
I have played the piano a long time now, I was classically trained from the age of 6 and sold my soul to the twin Demons - Blues and Jazz at the age of 14. ♦
I've played in a number of bands, from rock to soul, funk, jazz & blues. Recorded in some great studios and toured extensively throughout the UK and Scandinavia, many years ago. ♦
I enjoy composition, improvisation and music in any number of styles with an eclectic taste in what I enjoy listening to. I've recently started playing regularly again and writing and recording music, originally just to hear what my improvisations sound like when recorded, but now I find how much I enjoy writing and composing all over again. ♦
I really enjoy the ego-free zone, energy, inspiration & talent on this site. ♦
I compose with ..
Yamaha MM6 keyboard
Ableton Live9
Antique Dell laptop (it's old processor is struggling with Ableton now)
Sennheiser headphones
Drums tracks compose on G-Stomper, on an Archos Xs101 Android tablet
& A dash of inspiration
I hope you enjoy listening, constructive comments are always welcome :...
Thanks
