Fine Jane (2009)
How you can pick up a guitar and play something like this is simply very impressive. Like the vocal sounds towards the end. PJ
The guitars on this remind me of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. I dig the blend of electric/acoustic on this track. This takes me back to the 70's - very cool ride!
The acoustic melodies twist and mix really well... The wah guitar is quite harsh but it adds to the raw recording feel of the overall sound... Has an uplifting feel..
I lke the rawness of the track as it's not harsh but open and natural. Lovely. -rl
Sounds great as ever. I love this song! dan
Those acoustic guitars blend so sweetly, man, that just goes down like honey, and then those delicious crunchy bits come in. Wow! Love where you're goin' with this, Will, it's a beautiful composition and a delight to hear you playing it.
I absolutely love this track. The meoldy is so free-flowing and smoothe. Great work!
Thanks for leaving the kind comment on my profile. Again, very atmosperic stuff you do. Your music breaths freedom and love. I know i sound like a hippie, but hey,i was born in 1970 :)

Hi there!!. wow nice guitars! Lovely tune, good sound. Thank you for your comments. ºo)
Thanks for the comments Beluga. This track is right as it is,it has a old feel about it which is a good thing. It took me back to the days when i was a child, and saw the Wicker Man for the first time, the scene with Brit Ekland slapping the wall.Music can do that thanks.Lovely Track Enjoyed. Rated
Sounds like Away, away, away to me...but fascinating to read Andy's reports always. Loved it but have to say I loved first 2 thirds more than last third...think I shall have to add you to my list of recommended artists...you are getting under my skin now.
Love this tune. Always love a song that builds and/or changes. Just seems more emotive and it seems to hit my gut more. Agree with the bit earlier mentioned about the distortion being a little too distorted or perhaps loud. But just a tad. It's better with it for the build up and I certainly wouldn't take it out, just back off a bit. Of course I'm the guy that can't even friggin chew gum and walk at the same time so what do I know? Love it and that's enough...Rated
This does work for me I am enjoying this very much! Vin
I enjoyed it too. Not bad for first attempts at recording. A few glitches but didn't spoil and enjoyable listen. Rated
Lovely folky feel to this. Some nice chord work and I agree that the vocals are very dreamy. It conjures up some very nice imaged.
Hi, I really really enjoyed this! Very nice guitar playing and arrangement (kept interesting throughout). The first part reminds me a lot of Harmonium a French Canadian group (who I love). I agree with the campfire comment! It's a pretty dramatic change at about 2/3rds but I like it. Well done. Rated. Cheers, Smudge from Smudgie
I like the string guitar in the beginning. Real natural sounding with the fingers being drug across the strings. Then the melody gets more technical. Good start so far! The backup guitar adds a pleasant wondrous feeling. The knocking gives it some detail, too. Nice. It makes me feel like sitting around a camp fire roasting some dogs and some s'mores. Then there's a break in the song before you get some electricity in there. I like that guitar. Cool FX with the buzz. Then you're voice comes in and it sounds very dreamy. It'd kind of hard to make out with the distortion in the guitar but it's slowly building so that's good. Even though, still, I would adjust the distortion effects on the electric guitar because it changes from being nice and clear to "arrrrnnnngggggiiiiizzzzzzzggg" with an, "aaaaammmmiiiiiwwwaaaayyyyyyinnnnggggg" in the background. Nice effect but I think if you want some mastery, it should get some more attention. Just a suggestion! No worries! Just being honest! Noooo problems at all, man. This song sounds great. The arrangement is wonderful. Would sound pretty good with some vocals but it's your song. You choose the stuff! I did like the natural sounding string guitar the most. Very traditional with the folk sound. I liked it! The production side was very good. Everything could be heard clearly except the little guitar distortion part. Other then that, it's a very cool, chilled, laid back song. Very relaxing. I enjoyed it! Have a wonderful day. Enjoy the spring! :D
Nice sound you have here, i'm no techi..so all i can say is it sounds fine to me :)...touch of the 'XTC's' perhaps...no bad thing!
Gday Naughty, this is your friendly non technical listener, enjoyed your music and can see the potential in the track. You are definitely in the right place and right frame of mind to garner advice. Most of the people I have seen commenting on here are only too happy to help with technical advice.Cheers mate am off t listen to Beluga and Altcar Bob.
Mix could be eq'd.......drums a bit dodgy but really nice tune and playing........enjoyed listening. Kevin Mooney
Could be the final cut-these are works in progress - though they are pretty much where I want them. Thanks for the comment:-)
Really enjoyed this track very mellow and relaxing. Lots of variation, sounds like 3 tracks in 1. Would rate if it was rateable. Craig
Thanks:-}
Nice and mellow tracks with a sneaky biuld up. Great stuff, Shayne
Mad on music since I was a boy but only bought my first guitar at nineteen. Now a one man band producing home recordings since 2008, played on mainly acoustic instruments. Influences are mainly 70's children's TV music and 80's indie with a bit o' folk thrown in for good measure. I record original material by taking a riff or theme for a stroll; it can take us to some surprising places.
Thanks for listening, and if you like what you hear, then all well and good... feel free to grab a dl. Cheers.
