Still needs a decisive pumping bass, some little more work on the drums, some eq to remove some bottom end off the rhythm guitar and some eq to lift the top end on the lead. It's getting better. When you are happier with it send it over to me for a fiddle - it's easier to tell whats wrong when mastering a track. Already rated I believe but will try again cos it is a good bit o metal dude.

Well I've listened to it quite a few times, and must say that this sounds so much better with a proper studio recording, allbeit with a sound engineer who isn't a Metal head. I suppose you could beef up the kick drum, expand the rhythm guitars a touch panoramically, and the bass needs lifting in the mix. I actually like the snap of the snare, listen to Metal Church's debut for a good comparison. The guitar tone is good, maybe it could be brightened up a touch to better blend with the drums. All in all I think its a success, maybe you could have a dabble with it here and there, or ask James Oakwood to have a go! Not sure if I can rate again but I'll see anyway :)

No. ;( It is all flat. There is no shine. What do you do? Shine! So where is it? Nowhere. Eq is flat for everything. Drums are spaz...they can't even keep up!. This could be killer. What does it need? IMO. Dynamics! Tension and release! It is too much in yo face without any space to breathe. I think that is what Iodine means when he says "maybe too much". Good luck!

I took a download to analyse better on my equipment but first thoughts are the drums definitely suck - they have no pinache (metal deserves this of course) - they sound so flat i.e. everything is at the same level. Next, the drums are eq'd completely wrong for the mix. Next the guitars need equing - removal of overlapping spectrum that normally the bass guitar needs to occupy. They also need their top-end lifting to shine thru there too. Not too much cos metal doesn't go overboard in this area. Y'kno, There is bass guitar there (I'm assured) but I couldn't pick out anything it did at all and this is down to eqing problems. The engineer has cremated this dude. Have a rate for consolation cos it still rocks dude

Hey Dave...lots goin in here mate!...and maybe too much? I'm not sure how hip you areon the arrangement but I think you could lose a couple of themes/progressions! The intro really sets the stage for some rippin metal! Wicked gallops right up to the interval eastern type scale/phrasing! 2:24 mark breakdown I thought could've gone back into the ...middle 8 at 3:13 is smartly done! song could probably end at the 5:14 mark on the last note of the ascending scale? This song is a massive bombardment of technicality and will probably fly over alot of heads! I think if you looked a bit at the arrangement you may find you'll get as much, if not more, out of this epic it was shortened up a bit...IMO! And i know that can be a bitch and it sucks to have to re-arrange something you've spent endless hours trying to get right! Strings might be a nice compliment although I'm hearing brass! Some rich trombones...nothing too high in pitch though...more for the bottom end and complimenting some of the build ups! The song's monsterous at its original length but IMO it would delivera more decisive blow if it was a bit shorter! JMO Dave and hope it helps!

Ever the one to contradict everyone lol, I like the track just as it is lol, sound's pretty fantastic to me. When I have mix doubts personally I just leave the track for a fortnight then listen again with fresh ears, but see you have been labouring over the track for some time so forget that idea lol. Introducing a new element to it might work, as sometime it takes something fresh to make a track work again. But I would suggest the opposite and strip it to it's barest level and add slowly refining the eq perhaps to get a lift on the highs, it's a tricky thing when a track goes stale for you, but as I said at start this is definitely worth the time :)

Wow, lovin' the guitar playing on this, some engineer there if he was making you uncomfortable, obviously doesn't have a clue - his job is to make you feel totally comfortable! Yes do remix this, I can feel and sense the vibe to come even more alive. Enjoyed & rated so far, when you remix, will be back for a relisten. Sonya Stewart.

Now this seriously pounds! Its amazing what a bit of bass can do. I realise that this hasn't been mixed properly, but all the right ingredients are there. Let me know when its done, this tune already sounds great as it is now!
