Steve Fulton is an an experienced and unique singer-songwriter, producer and recording engineer. He is a household name in his hometown of Boise, Idaho, where he also owns and operates one of the state’s finest recording studios, Audio Lab Recording Studios. Fulton was lead singer and guitarist for the group House of Hoi Polloi, which gained a strong fan base touring extensively throughout the Northwest and drew major label attention with the success of their five full-length albums. Four years ago, Steve began his solo career, first performing live when he opened for Tori Amos in front of 3,000 people at the Idaho Center. Since then, he has released two solo CDs on his Uncommon Records label—the first a full-length album under the name Chakra Mission called Shock Remission, and his new album Said & Heard, released on November 8th, 2005. Fulton has recently enjoyed opening for such acclaimed artists as Jewel, Shawn Colvin, John Hiatt, Mindy Smith and the Wallflowers. Fulton is also passionate about making his community a better place. In addition to performing for a variety of benefit concerts over the years, he serves as mentor to a wide array of local musicians and engineers, provides job-shadowing opportunities and internships and gets involved in many projects with youths. Steve is also the creator and founder of 'Words & Music,' an annual showcase for independent singer-songwriters to share their solo work, collaborate with other artists and perform together in an intimate theater setting. The event gives artists an opportunity to gain exposure through each other’s fan base and offers a compilation CD and handmade program with pictures and bios of each artist with the price of admission.
