Those Happy Days
Pretty darn good track here! Just love the sound overall! This makes me happy and I can feel it in the instruments! So light and full of joy! Lovely melodies are caring me through the day! Definitely one of Those Happy Days!! -Rex
Dearest Master Peo you have a whole acoustic big band here how incredible how delightful I imagine it's a mammoth undertaking you win hands-down on authenticity and diligence and passion for the Jazz arts
What wonderful music! It is to my everlasting regret that I am too young to have been able to enjoy this magnificent art form in its heyday. Indeed, I was not yet a glint in the milkman’s eye! You refer to your work as “Yesterday’s music”. Sir, thanks to your winning efforts, you are definitely helping to make jazz Today’s as well as Tomorrow’s music. Länge leve jazz!
Had to have another listen. It get's me in the mood for fun.
Great vibes here Peo :)
Hi Master Peo, Wow! Reallt cool to hear something like this on this site. Really well done. Very well produced and arranged! Top notch stuff! Thumbs
Hi my name is Darius Coleman and I wanted to take an opportunity to introduce myself and encourage you to take a listen to my music on my page. I would appreciate if you left a comment!! Thanx
Ya cannot help but love this...Just puts a grin on my face (yes, I do sometimes!)..and gets the feet tappin' What a happy 'couldnt care less' vibe! Well done! ..and some versatile musician to play the whole lot!! keith
Thank you, Terry, for your nice comment! You are right about the "sudden ending". I could have done much more with the ending (especially with this kind of music), but unfortunately ... when I finally come to the end of a song, I already have my focus on the next song. Result: I often tend to seek "the easiest way out". Have to change that! / Peo
This is a super slice of some old time Dixieland...love the trombone best...but every element is gorgeous...the mix is as though I was right there on stage playing right in the middle of this band...maybe that's me on the drums? :)...super sweet...loved the interactions of the licorice sticks and brass...so much fun...sudden ending? Thumbs!
Thank you all for your comments! It is really interesting to read, which impact this "Stone age" music has on the listener nowadays. --- @ Dan: I guess you know, that Woody Allen not only is a filmaker ("Radio Days" fits in this context ...), but he is also ia very competent clarinet player with his own New Orleans band. --- @ Lodato: New Orleans has a special place in my heart, although I have never been there! I envy you! --- @ Fondue Brothers: You ask, who is playing ... well, everything is played by me and my one-man-band. The instruments are all samplebased and the tricky part is to make the result believable. My advantage here is, that I have played this music in a "real band" and know, how it is supposed to sound.
This reminds me of Disneyland and Woody Allen (how's that for a couple diverse and seemingly unrelated entities??). I just love this! A time/place transporter to an era of innocence and fun for me. To quote Robert Plant, "oh so good".....
Listening to this I can imagine myself being in a nice smokey bar drinking and chilling out. Do like a bit of jazz. Great work, really enjoyed this.
Heard this type of music in plenty of films and still do, so I am familiar with the style. Played extremely well but I had to smile when I saw the the title as I was expecting a jazz version of the gospel song and I thought how on earth will he do that!! Sorry digressed but impressed just the same!
Hot this is yes. Love the dixieland instilled goodness. Swaying like I'm at my favorite bar in NOLA (New Orleans Louisiana) which I'll be in a month! This tune makes me wish I was there now.
This brings a big smile to my face! Who's playing on this track?
Amazing Jazz, it has such a welcoming feel, you feel good all over, a terrific start to the day! This was hot music in the 1920's and its still Hot! Cheers, Andrew
04/29/2013 I uploaded a sentimental ballad called ”Sweet as Honey”. It has turned out, that my melody line is very similar to the song ”You Belong to Me”, that was a hit in the 1960ies. For that reason I have decided to take the song down for the time being and revise my melody. Many thanks to all of you, who have commented on my song and rated!
