You sure write some mighty fine songs. I could listen to stuff like this all day.
Great song Tony :)
Smashing vocal with that hint of distress in it. A difficult subject to address, never mind sing about. A good songwriter can use this as well as deal with it...as you do. Life eh? Great stuff mate..an .excellent song. k
This is a great song, Tony even though the subject matter is sad. You have a great soulful voice that reminds me a little of Rod Stewart. Personally I don't mind the drum track too much; such a meaningful song does not need any over-playing or over-complicated accompaniment. Just the plaintive delivery as it is works fine IMO. I'm originally from the West Mids too. BTW
I do what I can with drum loops, but I'm no pro at it. Easier when I'm lucky enough to get a live drum track, or get someone else to set it up, ha ha! Best results with loops are when I used those provided by a Casio CTK 750 keyboard I used to own, had intros, outros, rolls and rides easily manipulated. Thing quit on me a couple of years ago, and left me heartbroken! I've replaced Cap'n Casio with a cheap Yamaharlot keyboard, she's not as versatile but she tries, lol. I like your song, I've given it at least three more listens writing this :)
thanks for your kind words .regarding the drum track im afraid im no good with the tech side of drum machines so i have to use a drum loop . but have just brought a new elec kit so hopefully i will have a few rolls here and there. but there are still about 10 to 15 tracks i have with the loop to upload , so please bere with me .well spotted djc not alot of people notice lol, thanks for your time and comments ..........tonyc
Hi Tony. What a back story :( very sad. I really love your voice... The feeling and deep emotion just flowing out on this one> Great song!
It's a good song, Tony. Deep lyric, excellent vocal, I'm really enjoying the guitar, bass and brass too. I'd like to hear this with a better drum track, need more variety there. Easy rate, it is a good song, well done.
i have known tony for sometime now , i used to follow his band, or should i say bands , he as learned his music the hard way , giging in pups/clubs/up and down the country.playing to 1 man and his dog one night and a packed house the next, but his music is what i like to listen to ,his voice seems to be like 3/4 artists all in 1,he has a lovely raspe to it ,he writes all his own songs ,he plays bass/rythm/lead guitar /keyboards/ vocals /backing vocals . mixes produces , all his own songs ,and has wtote songs for other artists aswell ,he writes from the heart about lifes ups and downs, i hope you enjoy his music as much as i do . all the best .andy downes.
