For fourteen years you are way ahead of the game. This is impressive for anyone at any age! You are making real music at a very young age and that's a recipe for success. Don't let anyone tell you different! You have my vote. Keep the love and desire for music no matter how hard it may seem sometimes at such a young age and always keep it real musically. Good stuff -Mike
Very nice track indeed! A very good vibe to this song which seems very "pop" with a rock kinda feel. It's a feel good song that is proof your a true songwriter that does have a lot to work with. Overall I think this is a really cool track. Good luck to ya, and always keep the faith! A+ and an easy vote!
Catchy pop rock, very well written and performed. You have a very good voice. With time if you can develop more inflections and grittiness it will shine even more (think along the lines of Bruno Mars). Welcome to the site, great first upload. Rated, Craig
Very smooth production. Maybe the drums a little too smooth. I suspect you could reach a higher key with your vocals, and would sound even better. Maybe use some automation to add gain to your voice during busy passages. Great tune, welcome to the site. Voted.
Thank you everybody for the comments. And the constructive criticism is much appreciated and is very helpful. Thank you!
Very good voice, and amazing musicianship, especially considering your age. When listening through head-phones, I also notice that this track has a very "three-dimensional" sound, meaning that the instrumentation and arrangement truly surrounds the listener. Good solid pop song here. Good work!
Nice song writing Stuart. Great voice you have. 14 eh? Very mature sounding track. Enjoyed my listen. Cheers. Gets my vote. Mal.
Guitar sounds mic'd...is that your basis for composition? Got a nice voice to go with that guitar...all the rest, drums, piano lines, synths, in your DAW, are the gloss...the song stands on voice and guitar, and that is a solid performance! Really enjoyed this one...and from a fourteen yr. old ;) Cool! Thumbs! *footnote: suggestion only, not so fond of the distorted bass synth/guitar(?) sound at 43s and 1:58 (chorus?) or so .....not a criticism...just wondering....I guess you tried other "sounds" and chose this one...it caught my ear as a lo-fi technique, but threw my ears off the song...worth trying other ideas before deciding whether that patch is really the sound that best suits this tune...anything that takes the listener off the melody and your voice is worth exploring...I think ;) Great performance and backing track allows your voice to shine ;)
Stuart, you get my vote, this is an excellent song, love the vocal, no voice correction, just the real thing. Perfect, Gibbo
My name is Stuart Woolfenden, I'm fourteen, and music is my passion. I am always doing something that has something to do with my music! I'll either be practicing, recording, making YouTube videos, writing songs, performing, etc. I'm really trying to get myself out there and be heard. I've been writing songs for about three years now, I wrote my first song when I was eleven about a girl. It was a really cheesy love song... I learned that I needed to be different so therefore I changed my songwriting style and turned to writing about problems in the world. I get a lot of inspiration from the news. I enjoy listening to The Clash as well, I love their songwriting so much. I have about ninety songs on the go right now, I perform them at local jams and open mic nights... but I would love to take it even further. So please take the time to listen to my music... I hope you enjoy and SHARE!
