Thank you for the kind words everyone. There is also a music video that goes along with this. I've been trying to upload it to my profile, but I have had problems with the video uploader. In any case, the direct link is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Li2yZ13ToZ0 This is a sort of pictorial history of my hometown, which has fallen on very rough times as of late. I still love these Appalachian Mountains.
Terry and Dave got it bang on the head with this! It is dark but it is also quite a catchy track and I like the oriental touch to this. The vocals are perfect and the sort of shouting towards the end suit it well. Not usually into this genre but you have done a good job with this. Well done on making the Top 20. PJ
Haven't seen a track from you in a while....yup a kind of dark homage to fear...what a wild scary ride here...loads of extras..vocal layers...claps...metallic drum strikes...bluesy growling lead vocal...banjo added a creep factor too...would like to read the lyrics...preaching in here?....Die laughing...whew...Tom Waits? :)
Dark spiritual, excellent performances. Particularly impressed with those vocals (great lyrics, by the way) but all good. Great mix, this sounds fantastic and puts ya close enough to smell the brimstone...thumbs up!
Hailing from the Appalachian foothills of southwest Virginia, Rance Garrison has been writing songs since his early childhood, learning to play guitar and piano along the way. In June of 2012, he released his debut album, “Black Crow,” in which he handled the production and engineering duties himself, working out of a small makeshift studio in the house that his late great-grandfather built.
