There's a great vibe to this song and I like the laid back feel. I think this song can be made into one that will sound really great. The foundation is there and I'll look forward to hearing the completed version.
Seems to have slipped under my radar. Nice laid back style for you DJ. Laconic delivery suits the style.
A pleasant and original track...I liked lyrics and vocals. In othe words...I enjoyed so much
A raw demo for a potentially great song I think, your vocal is excellent, Yvonne's is so peaceful but needs a bit of clarity. Hope you rework Rose David, it could be amazing. Thumbs up
Thanks fellows! The Yamaharlot and I squeezed out some serious cheese with this quick mix, ha ha! Re-do's in the works, but this version's been fun :)
ha-ha..hi-fi/lo-fi/no-fi ;) yeah, kind of an unusual mix going on, but the fundamentals are your vocals and the guitar. That Yvonne added to this is an interesting touch of improv....glad you posted the lyrics, David...couldn't really make it all out..Yamaharlot does the keys fine..beats do sound distant. I like the concept and dueling vocals toward the end. :)
Kind of haunting feel, punt me in mind of a Hollywood film but can't remember the title, hot steamy night, restless, sleep difficult to come, yeah conjures up all this imagery, cool vibe running through and usual excellent writing David.
Yeah, very laid back...and I like that ..a bit rough around the edges...and I like that too. A little sad...and I like that also...blimey...im getting repetitive in me old age :-) Great to hear Yvonne...quite sexy....I say...quite sexy! k
More like "nofi" Ricky, it's fidelity free ha ha! Hoping to get Randy over to replace those drums, which means I'll likely be doing all these tracks over again. I'll give the mix more attention when I do; meanwhile Yvonne's lyrics are up now.
The mix quality is as ruff as I have ever heard from you David. Was the drum machine in the next door neighbors back garden ? I can make your vocal out no idea what Yvonne is saying. There is lofi and then this lol
Thanks guys. My lyrics are up; it's going to take a while to transcribe hers, she made those up on the spot. Song was supposed to be about putting mankind to sleep - her contribution made it personal and had me in tears after I heard it. Yeah, I'll be touching this up, thanks for the listens
Excellent. Yvonne has great vox too for his
I like that drum beat sound, like a machine. Love the melody. Nice gentle guitar work. Your vocals always sound cool and yvonnes voclas compliment yours perfectly. The choir sample is a nice touch. Look forward to hearing a finished version :-)
I like the laid back feel of this one, David. Can ya post the lyrics? I always enjoy reading your lyrics as I listen. I figure this is a work in progress and you'll be remixing it at a later stage. Certainly potential there to make this song a beaut and I'm looking forward to hearing how it develops.
No lyrics? Say it isn't so Dave ;) I love how raw this is. It makes it real for me. Sweet , sweet, sounds coming form that ol' Yamaharlot. Dave I love the lo-fi vibe but I think this is worth working a little more on the mix. Without a lyric sheet it's very hard to pick out Yvonne's words :( and I just know they are powerful!!! A crit from the heart my friend. You've got a gem of a song here Love it!
The "and Company" indeed makes all the difference! I'm David Joel Carter, a songwriter from Tulsa, Oklahoma, pleased to meet ya! There's a solo piece or two of mine in here, but these are mostly collaborations with family and friends, local and around the world over the net. The "band" changes with almost every song, there's quite a bit of variety here, and some really amazing talent.
Jan. 4, 2016 - Major housecleaning going on; if there's a tune you recall but don't see anymore, and would like a copy, drop me a note, I've probably got it somewhere :)
Next random victim is.....DJC and Company!
Alright, we all know DJC around these parts. Good ol' Tulsa boy throwing down licks and vocal sticks with a passion few can match, impervious to pointless criticism, always willing to try anything and learn/ improve his game.Of the many tracks he has, two standing out the most are "Up" and (our subject track) "Red Wine In The Morning". Now, I have no rea
Firstly let me state that this review is purely my opinion, which is subjective. I do not set out to ridicule or demean anyone, but intend to give a fair unbiased view. This will hopefully give the artist some food for thought for future recordings.
So on to the Track
The first thing I noticed while reading the description is there must be few versions of this track on the go, the reason I feel
