The Country Outta Me
DJC Rocking out in big time freestyle and, yeah this is right up-my-alley as we say on this side of the pond. Lovin the organ and the guitars too. Fab piece of rockin magic, well done on top spot DJ
How could I have missed this! A well deserved number 1! Love it C:)
Great guitar and organ(?). What a fun song!
Vocal a tad dry and could do with some compression to lift the quieter phrasings - hey I thought you had a vocal compressor? Maybe it wasn't set up correctly? A bit of bass/mid eq on yer vox would probably work too. Good song and, as others have said, fine lyrics dude. Thumzup.
Ya Mon...this ere tune got it all! Keys make it very nice and Mr Round plays his part to perfection...Randy is kickin and your vocals are a fit as usual but for me what sets it off are the lyrics! If I didn't see it for myself I would've thought this was some hollywood yarn! Yar! Nothing but r8's for you and ye crew!
Sounds so much fuller with the keys :) Infact it sounds totally different. Its like listening to a completely new song. Great vocal as always :) the keys sure add depth :) 2:40 and it sure takes off :) Very cool! Peace,Ricky
I think you will unsderstand when I say that this is undoubtably the best "well-put-together" song you a have uploaded Dave. It's right in every respect and if I would love to hear it sung by a Garth Brookesy voice, that's just my damned problem not yours.
Well done everyone and a well deserved vote from me!!
Sounds like you all had a great time with this one. Dam you got some great lines in Dave ;) Great solo as well. Really dig the kick in at the end. Ya this fantastic on all levels.
Ye-har! This is well cool. FWIW I might have modulated it up a tone or two, pulled back the kit a little and put a bit of moderate early reflection room 'verb on lead vox to make it sit in its own space a little more. But, hey, wadda I know... Thumbs!
Enjoyed reading the story in the lyrics...squeeze the country outta meeee :)...a nice rockabilly vibe...keyboard really hauls and Mike's lines add to the energy. Energy...that is what is in here..Randy's drums chugs out a nice railway rhythm...all allows you to do what you love to do...tell the story...nice autobiographical foundation..still trying to get the country out? :) Nice band coming together...even here your bass and chunky rhythm guitar in here :) Cool...Thumbs to all!
Hi David, Great sounds, love the organ and percussion, guitars are super, the lead is awesome! I love how you tell a nice little story in these exceptionally good lyrics (great vocals too!) It's a very likable track, lots of gentle satire!
Great country rock David and crew, you guys sound like you're having the best time, my feet tappin' ang head noddin', always a good sign. Thumbs, Gibbo
My only contact with country music comes from flics like ''smokey and the bandit'' so I'm imagining high speed car chases with inept police officers now lol. Not your intention I know, but music does that ;) I'm leaving with a smile though...so thumbs :)
Nice to meet you too Doc - great keys.
One of kind David, one of kind.......cheers to Randy, Doc and Michael for their contributions to this DJC classic.........
has a real hee haw feeling, hee haw
Still new here but I agree with Mike. What a fun song to participate in. Ha Ha. David. It is a Gulbransen Organ, Stevie Windwood used to play one.Nice to meeet you Mykyndryd . God, what a great collab.
This is just a great round up of musician all having a blast. it sounds pretty darn fine as well even if it'd a tad country but to my ears i hear bluegrass and rockabilly and for that i love it all the more!
A truly great song here David and part to be a part of it. Top performances from all concerned. Great Collaboration and a great song.
Rated of course.
Working out of my home studio here in Tulsa, with help from family and friends both local and world-wide; check song descriptions for details on who's jumping in...
I'm David Joel Carter, and I'm happy to share some of my songs along with a couple of tunes by others I had a hand in. Check credits closely on each song, the line up changes often depending on who's available, and you might even bump into President Lincoln there.
