ya man, I'm diggin the deep voice. that extra guitar riff with the pickin adds a cool vibe to the rhythm. I'm hearing that whistling, but to me its kind of a nervous whistle, cause things get dark. I like the way you explore. best in 2013
Amazing ...!!! A deep powerful vibe blowing your hair back while sitting in a chair (stereo ad)...!!!
Vox could cut a diamond ...!!!
Builds perfectly as palms sweat anticapating next movement...!!!
Inspiring emotional track that blows me away ...n my hair...one fancies the thought...we knew you before....either way, you are n exceptional artist that has stamped many many great songs..
Salutations Mr Lodato
apologies for not getting here sooner Rich (this is Deon btw) As soon as I hear that guitar I feel that expectation of those sweet vocals coming in...somewhat lower than usual as you enter this narrative..but what a rockin sweet melody this is. I love the way you seem to give all of yourself to the song. - you become it. IT one thing to sing a tune, but this is som much more..an expereince..and a fabulous one at that. Sorry forn ot being around too much, but I want ot wish you a wonderful new year and thank you for keeping the mp3u faith.
thanks for your comment LODATO
nice guitar tone, cool laid back night sound.the world needs LODATO
Not heard this one before. Brilliant track. Love the rhythm that the echoing bass and guitar create. Lyrically this is fantastic. I've heard many songs about the muse and creative process of songwriting and this is one of the most original. "you probably won't get to sleep anyway", I know that feeling, when it grabs you it's hard to ignore. A really really great song Rich. Rated, Craig
Musically this reminds me alittle of a track by the dandy warhols. Love the guitar :) Buon Natale,Rich. Peace,Ricky
Just an awesome track for sure. I just love what you do. Note for note it's all just so strong in every way. Love the deep vocal in the beginning and the octave change. You have such a unique voice. Beautiful in almost every way you use it. The electric guitar has that crisp, sharp sound that I've come to expect from you. This is a great track, and like all your others we just can't get enough of what you do. Love it and please do keep the faith!
You know I love this , thanks for bringing it back.
Said this before Rich...but you have one of the most remarkable and recognisable voices Ive ever heard. One of my favourites too!! That sizzling guitar and your whistling...inspired my whistling in "River" ...if its good enough for you...! lol keith
One of my top two from you and i think you know that rich. Glad it's back for good. This is such a quality song hey, hey hey!!!! If you ever fancy collaborating on making an extended version of this I'm yer man. Thumzup clever boy
This is one of my favorite songs! I already have a download and klisten to it often! Glad you brought it back for more people to enjoy! -Mike
Really nice Rich, the deep vocal put me in mind of Chris Rea a little. Love your versatility, amazed how your voice fits with so many styles of music. Big Thumbs, Gibbo
I like your whispered intro very warm fella...excellent writing. Enjoyed the whistling et all. Smooth! :) Mal
Love those heys between the spoken part before your vocal comes in and so pleased it did. Lovely guitar work in here too with smooth low synths with the whistle. Quirky and great....
yeah....the bass thumping in over the descending plucked chords....only surpassed by that deep vocal narrative...the creative process so well portrayed and one most of us can readily identify with..HEY this is what it's like....you got it all and give us voice in this gem! Walking away, whistling! Oh, and leave it up this time! ;)
I loved music at first breath. Born in 1955 the year when Marilyn Monroe came to NYC for acting lessons. Less then 10 miles away from my wee infant self. Must'v had an effect on me. Maybe.. ya never know. So to go on.. Memories, far back. Music involved everything. Sounds, beats, how I felt. When music I was attracted to broke in, it was worth waking up for. It influenced my personality. Who I would like, love and where I would hang. Music surrounded everything in my reality. It was the muse to get me along and hang on. Always going on. That's just the way it is. To what, I don't know. I just hope someone out there is better off for something I did or didn't do, said, or sang and boy, singing saved my life more times then I can count. I always had that when I had absolutely nothing else I could count on, even myself.
If you'd like a download, just email me and I'll send you one.
at five I played my first notes. at 15 my second. in between we just don't talk about.
this song really reflects on where we are, whats important about life. the arrangement, the guitar, vocals, all really hit the mark. this is one of the greats.
Your voice is so cool. You have these "cracks" in the words and it doesn't matter... in fact it makes you "real." I don't know if that makes sense to you, but to me – trust me, it's good! The music has a very lifting feeling to it. And again, your music hypnotizes me to listen to the whole song not once, but twice. THEN, I want to get a copy, and comment... it's a whole thing that I go through
